I agree with you here. The only thing that Glass is better than Mangiapane at is growing taller. Mangiapane is the better player.
He does come in at half the salary, however, and is signed next year as well. He then becomes an RFA. No idea who his agent is, but Mangiapane's agent has been difficult.
I wouldn't do the trade, but it isn't terrible when figuring-in salaries.

Not with his salary. Its just valuing.
He was given that contract to score goals. Yeah he is on a really good defensive line, but thats not what 5.8M is for, nor is he the driver of said defense on that line.
He is a 40 pt under sized winger who makes way more money than that should require.
29 goals in his last 142 games.
Coleman has 25 in 61 this season alone for a million dollars less.
On the same line.
Sorry...Mangiapane is not under valued "around this site", he is in fact over valued instead by many.

No hate, but Backlund and Coleman do a ton of heavy lifting on that line.
If someone is willing to pay a decent price for Mangiapane then by all means.
That’s actually a great spot to throw a young forward like Coronato or Zary.

Cody Glass still has a decent ceiling. He just nailed a hat trick the other night. He is a more skilled player and he can actually stay in his skates. He is also a centre, something this team needs. I have always seen a lot of potential in Glass, if he is given the right opportunity that could be a real home run acquisition.

Does Colorado have a first round pick this year? If so, they could be a good option for Hanifin (likely as a rental) to make up for the loss of Byram. Would also make them stronger and frustrate the Oilers.
