I was reading about this guy. He said some pretty brutal things in the past, seems like a pretty terrible person. Perfect for the Republican party.

Nothing surprising about that North Carolina result. That’s pretty much on brand for the current GOP.

Can someone coles notes the primaries for me? It seems like 350M Americans sit at home while a few thousand dudes decide what's best for them.

Speaking of the primaries, Nikki Haley just won Vermont with 49.9%. Trump ended up with 45.8. He may be winning the majority of these races so far, but certainly not by overwhelming numbers. There have been a lot of Republican voters voting against him in these primaries, which can't be a good sign for the GOP. Looks to me like that's a very divided party at the moment.

I'm curious to see what will happen in the general election in November. Will these people end up holding their nose and voting for Trump simply because he has red next to his name? I'm guessing they likely will. At this point I don't have much faith in the American electorate to do the right thing in this election. But stranger things have happened.

If they're protesting in favour of Palestine, you don't have to guess how they feel. Do you really believe a group that is that engaged in political protest would be unaware Palestinian attitudes towards their community?

CNN has been highlighting the voting weakness for Trump during the primaries and it is within the suburban voters. Those voters have been supporting Haley as they are much more moderate or independent. They will likely decide the election for Trump because he needs those voters to get behind him.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with former President Donald Trump on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, along with unnamed wealthy Republican donors, the New York Times reported, citing three people briefed on the meeting.

Trump is courting donors as he gears up for a general election campaign against President Joe Biden. It’s not yet clear whether Musk will financially back or endorse Trump and his 2024 campaign.

Musk and a representative for Trump’s campaign didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

Looks like when voters actually have more information about candidates it changes who they might vote for.

Time and time again, Republican primary voters will go for the horrible person vs the candidate that actually has a good chance of winning. It's always kind of amusing and usually just gifts the Democrats the election in state wide offices in states like VA and NC.

It's all consistent with the same lazy, boring Republican messaging.

Your life and job sucks, and it sucks because climate protection policies (and other regulations) are taking away all the good jobs, migrants are storming the border to take all the jobs and rape and murder your family, and China!

Imagine someone from Congress even 10 years ago telling a reporter to #### off.. now it's just another day of MTG keeping it classy.

The current GOP MAGA party is like a car accident that I can't turn away from.

Kennedy killed the hat and the Tea Party killed civility. It’s all performative anyway but it does make me feel less good about pretending things are fine.

Ah yes, the signs of a stable, well functioning state when one arm of the government is making public statements and reducing funding to specifically subvert other arms of government. This will turn out well and is not evidence at all that the USA is in a post-death state already.

One thing that's getting to me recently, is where exactly is kamala harris? She's been in office for 3+ years. Last thing was she suggested a ceasefire in Gaza. Ok duh. But man.. she's not doing herself any favours for re-election when she's basically disappeared for her term

I'm as anti-trump as they come but when you disappear from office, i dunno. It even seems like biden had tons to talk about over the years here but by hasn't really capitalized on media 'presence'. Frig, even with Trump we had weekly updates from idiots like sean spicer, huck a bee sanders

The Biden administration is giving regular briefings to the press. The difference is that they don't get swarmed with media attention for constantly saying bat#### crazy things.
