I don't know about that, they have offered Holtz in deals all year.

He's playing on the team he signed up for. Sixty thousand Franklins a year, pretty nice agreement.
Although things certainly "could have been handled differently up top"!

I had a dream that Hanifin was traded to Tampa for a 1st, a2nd, and a 3rd, plus a B prospect.
This is not how I want to spend my sleeping moments. I need this deadline to pass…..

That would be a good haul.

Seems like coaches always go for their few Elliotts/Hillers before they pony up and get their Markstrom. You'd hope they would learn from others mistakes.

I want the Flames to get Markstrom done while the Devils seem desperate.
Last thing they need is Markstrom getting frustrated and in the summer saying "I'll only waive for X team" and then you limit your own return.

It’s 3/6 and my 36th birthday. No game score to affect with birthday magic, so what does the DaVinci code tell us this means?

Hanifin traded for a 3rd and a 6th.

Marky (25) for Kopitar (11)= 36
Kopitar is 36 !
Marky (25) for Holtz (10) + 1st = 36
Hanifin (55) + 1st =56 for Point (20) 56-20 = 36
I'll see myself out

Then sit on the bench as the third goalie in practice behind Wolf and Vladar if that’s how you’re going to be, and watch the rest of your career, go by from the bench. See easy enough to handle.

That doesn't help the Flames either.
He was granted a NMC and if he decides he only wants to get traded to one team or not traded at all then that's his right.
You want to always push for the best possible trade return, but sometimes you need to make sure you're not being too demanding and waiting too long.
Flames kind of did that with Brodie, Gaudreau and Monahan and in the end lost all of them for nothing.

The Devils have totally blown the opportunity that they had in front of them for the last month. The Flyers are still playing terrible hockey and with the games in hand that the Devils had they could have easily caught and passed the Flyers with a 6-4-0 record (what the Flames currently have).
Instead, they are sitting 3-7-0 in their last 10 with many of their losses being directly blamed on the goaltending and all of their division has passed them by while playing average hockey (Islanders, Penguins, and Capitals)
At this point I hope they are desperate enough to go for both Markstrom and Hanifin (with an extension) and really knock a blockbuster trade out. Mercer, Holtz, Casey, and some conditional picks depending on their performance over the next couple of seasons.

There is a good chance there will be rumours swirling around Calgary up until the deadline, even if Hanifin and Markstrom are moved today.
