Yeah, it can happen. Coleman, as you mentioned. Kopitar. Crosby. Jagr, clearly. Backlund has had almost no decline yet. Frolik was pretty much worth the money.

Its actually funny, I remember having a conversation with Vlad many years ago and he made some very good points and thats why I'm very hesitant to sign older players who want to be compensated for what they've done rather than what they will do.

Yeah, seems strange to me that this concept was figured out and popularized in MLB 20+ years ago and NHL fans still seem stuck in the 2000 mindset.
