I think maybe you take that and hope the Bolts crumble in 2025/26 giving the Flames another legit shot at McKenna. Their core would be a couple years older, their prospect pool is currently completely barren. If either Kucherov or Vasilevskiy miss time that team would likely tank hard.

The deal is for an extended Hanifin, not as a rental . Thus why the value is more than if he was a rental.

I get that. I just figured Tampa was going to low ball and try and get hanifin for just barely above rental price.

Don't have that info but if I had to guess it will be protected, everybody protects nowadays, especially with a pick a couple years down the road.

That sounds about right as far as packages go. Sucks waiting for the 26 1st but TB could be on their way down at that point giving the Flames a good pick.

They probably would love that but it isn't happening with this player. We are fortunate in that two teams that hate eachother are both trying to land Hanifin.

I hope that this puts pressure into FLA to finally add Lundell to the deal. I think Hanifin keeps them competitive next year too, also ensuring that unless we pick outside top 10, MTL gets a crappier pick.

Both his university bios have him 5'11" FWIW. Most recent weight was 190 which ain't bad. Same size as Kuzmenko and Coleman.
