Its funny...one of my favorite TDL moments was way back when Burkie was still in TO....and nothing was happening on the TSN coverage that day....like nothing.
So a couple hours into the broadcast they showed a shot from the Leaf war room where about 12 guys were sitting around the table all looking at the TV on the wall..... showing.....them all sitting around the table looking at the TV on the wall!

As a retired 65 year old male I love this time of the year. It adds excitement to otherwise dull winter days. It keeps me entertained until golf season starts

HEY. Sharing FACTS that dispute the gangs on CP who want to insist that Tre did 100% wrong while GM of the Flames and revising history doesn't help their objective!

Marleau was traded when he refused to play for any other team than the Sharks so the Canes knew they had to buy out the deal and carry the entire cap because Marleau was over 35 when signed. Monahan was traded with injuries so those 2 deals are somewhat accurate but have an asterisk next to them for those reasons.

I don't think Oilers management shared the same excitement for golf as I do

Frank isn't a bully. He's just Italian.
When discussing something and you think you're being challenged on it you make the same point louder. It's not like a bullying interruption thing.

The other thing is that he was still oved 4.25 with 3 as a bonus. So it cost the Canes 3.833 in terms of money, and a cap hit of 3.417 the first year and .417 in year two. So cap wise it looks similar to Monahan, but money wise it's a quite different as Monahan was still owed 6 in salary.

I don't see a ton of uncertainty personally anymore. There was, but a lot of things have been dealt with and been improved.
Locker room? Much better than last year
Prospects? Deeper
Draft picks? Lots more of them
Results on the ice? Comparable
UFA's? Out the door
We have 1 UFA left to trade. We need to sign Kylington. We need to solve the goaltending situation...though this isn't really a problem. It just needs a direction.
This summer we get to draft lots of players, maybe sign a few free agents and see what happens from there.
The team is actually not bad.

Absent Kylington there is just one UFA to move and I'd bet a lot that he gets moved.
The goaltending - Markstrom will get moved when the deal makes sense, and if Wolf gets a lot better at the NHL level it will speed up that process.
