Looks like Flames fans on Twitter are taking to the Serivali report that Maloney/Edwards blocked the first Markstrom trade are trying to get #EdwardsOut trending.

If albertans want to be mad at Murray Edwards, they have way better reasons to than trade rumors.
Maloney on the other hand...

Or is the ploy of teasing Tampa interesting working to squeeze Florida?

Holtz straight up for Markstrom would be somewhat soft return based on recent play though.
I like Holtz but 1:1 for Markstrom would be a underwhelming return right now.
This is where I think the Mercer thing comes into play a bit.
Mercer for Markstrom would feel more fair as a 1 for 1 deal...then if you want to add a pick for retention maybe it makes sense.

Every time Frank Seravalli says anything about a potential trade between Flames/NJ, I just assume he's pushing New Jersey's narrative. His takes seem one-sided.

Holtz for Markstrom 1:1 is not enough
Top starting goaltender for 2nd/3rd line winger?
Even taking age into account, that’s not sufficient.

I don't think he has said 1 favourable thing about the Flames in weeks. but maybe that's just confirmation bias kicking in

What exactly would you blame Maloney for? I thought he was very welll spoken when dealing with the Trelving episode/new GM search.

Maloney is the go between for Edwards & Conroy. He isn't killing anything on his own FWIW

- hadn’t agreed to a deal because Maloney said “no” to retention

Clear as mud, really. The nice part is you can just choose which of these allows you to criticize the person you already dislike in the Flames organization.
Meanwhile:
- Despite “going for it” they’ve traded Toffoli, Zadorov, Lindholm, Tanev, and (soon) Hanifin
- Despite not wanting to retain, retained on Tanev
- Despite “sticking to their ask” took less than a 1st for Tanev
It’s not possible that, maybe, Conroy is just good at this and has freedom to operate as he sees fit and the guy who desperately needs a goalie while he watches his team fail down the stretch is leaking crap to the media to cover for his inability to close Markstrom or Saros?

That's an all time post in my mind!

It isnt even the rumours or scoops that Frank says, it is that he seems so arrogant and is pretty rude when people question him.

Disagree, definitely not a 1st to make of the difference.
Holtz ranks 11th out of forward ice for NJ, gets some PP but mainly 2nd unit, just turned 22 and is pacing for 15 goals 30 points. 1st full year in the NHL with a year left on his ELC. He's worth Markstrom straight up or a small add like 4th or 3rd round not a 1st.
