But whatever.
Umm… you’re not following well what I’m saying.

At the end of the day there is equal control here. I mean he also doesn’t get traded if the Flames don’t trade him. So, saying he has “total control” is not accurate. You’re also generally missing my point. I am talking about what NJ is trying to do here, which is trade for him in a broader market for less in the summer. So that’s the part I’m saying the Flames have to communicate isn’t happening. I mean sure, you’re right, if at any point Marky says no then there’s no deal. That’s fine. But just don’t let NJ think they can get him cheaper, basically.

Markstrom has a NtC we can shop him around but he controls who he will waive to.

He said yes to New Jersey and they clearly want him. Just get it done.

Does he have to say yes again? Or would he have signed something the first go-around?

Correct, he signed off. It's not needed again.

I think he will have to sign off. It may have been verbal last time.

Okay. Yes. We all understand this. Jesus Christ.

EF just said. Devils have said they’re leaning towards waiting until the offseason.

That was the point of my post. Why do you think they say that?

Alot

That's more similar to Conroy and Tanev agreeing a couple weeks ago that it would be best to move him to a contender.

Not getting the job isn't the same either. The closest would be getting the job and then having the company tell you the night before you start they changed their mind.

Life goes on but you still have a right to be annoyed.

He said they are willing to wait if it doesn’t get done, but if they get a goalie now it’s probably not happening in the offseason.

If the deal happens tomorrow, I'd be willing to bet the Devils can pull off a miracle.

We really have no idea what or how he signed off.

It’s hard to sign off on a trade that wasn’t agreed to.

But it’s likely whatever he said last time is no longer effective.

Friedman states the reason the Flames pulled out of the trade was due to how good they were playing and not retention. I am sure that will rile up some of the fanbase

Maybe when the Devils circled back that was the reason, but when the rumor first came out the Flames lost to the Sharks that same night.

Even though supposedly this trade was being discussed prior to the Flames going on an Eastern road trip where Markstrom thought he wasn't going to be a Flame. They lost 3 of 4 before that road trip.

Steinberg seems to not be convinced that Markstrom's comments are necessarily directed at Conroy and is saying it may be directed to the layer(s) above Conroy. He mentioned that he doesn't know for sure after talking to some people. It is unfortunate that those comments from Markstrom came out at a time when the team seemed to be so united despite all of the trades that have happened to date.

yeah this doesn't really make sense to me. When the trade was supposedly about to go down - the Flames were not playing that great.
