To each his own. I'll say what I want to anyone who will listen!
My employer is a complete jerk, he overworks and underpays me, and he doesn't have a goddam clue how to run his business. And I can say that with impunity, because if he fires me, the whole operation is toast.
Did I mention that I'm self-employed?

That new employer would take the comments as a cautionary tale about an employee who isnt committed.

No better way to impress the new employer than by trashing the old one on your way out, amirite?

A day before the employer is retiring a legends number.
Wonder what he would have in store for New Jersey before a Brodeur retirement.

Make the deal. Trade Markstrom and sign Kipper to a contract for the rest of the year.
Marky, leave your pads behind for Kipper. Lol

I know the feeling! I am underpaid and underappreciated! That bastard treats me like dirt!

Get the equipment guy to drill a hole in Kipper's mask so he can smoke while he plays!
"I've just got to check Kipper's water bottle..."
- "No you dont. You really dont want to do that. Just leave it."

I believe in the Jays.

Do it Flames. We could use that retention slot to move Kuzmenko or Mangiapane. Either now or at the draft (assuming that we use the last one on Hanifin).

I have to admit if I was him I would be a little annoyed. It seems like with the other guys there were rumours but nothing imminent until they actually got moved. It seems like this Devils thing has been going on for weeks and if they were close enough that he was informed he was moving then pretty annoying that it didn't get done only for it to still be on the boil. We are talking about a young family here that keeps hearing that they may have to move to New Jersey or maybe not because of some hang up in the trade that the Flames can't get over.

This isn't that hard. This group isn't very good, and we need to be good in the future, so trade him. Right now is the time, the whole city is on board with the plan now, you'll never get as much buy-in and understanding than you will right now. The players will understand too.
Don't waffle now.

I think he absolutely has a right to be annoyed. He has the no trade clause for a reason - doesn't want to be traded. wants to be here. He earned that.
However, that is something you voice internally only.
Now that he has voiced displeasure to the media, unfortunately I think its time to cut ties. sooner than later.
I was in the keep Markstrom camp but now I'm in the trade him camp.

For sure a mistake, I’d be surprised if we heard him trash the team more. He ####ed up, everyone can chill a bit.

His kid is like 2 I doubt he understands what is happening.
Its a business and his salary is guaranteed, if they have issues moving to New Jersey he can just block he trade.

I think he actually turned 1 this week. Not that it matters.

I get the feelings that the comments is basically him telling Conroy to get this done and quit messing around.

….. they still have to move the two year old. It was something he specifically asked for in his contract, and he’s obliging a request to waive it.
It’s actually a good angle. It’s the middle of the season; they are probably coordinating family members, etc to help them move.

He's a Pro Athlete. Its part of his job.
The fact of the matter remains that he screwed the pooch last year. Yeah, that was then and this is now, but it still indicates that he can't be trusted to be consistent.
And I really dont like his comments to the media. At all.
If you want to insist to media and the fans that Craig Conroy is screwing you? I want proof.

Oh totally, i'm sure it won't happen again. He let some frustration slip out, it happens.
But if the team was waffling on the decision and stuck in the middle, this (for me) would push the needle in the direction of a trade

This feels connected to Conroy’s comment the other day, about walking away in order to send a message of belief to the room.
Markstrom has raised his game back to where it was 2 years ago during his Vezina calibre season. He’s been great.
“Raised” is a key term. He was pretty putrid last year. And started slow this year.
Lots going on in his life. Which is understandable. But no one in the organization publically slagged him for it. Including Sutter who always rides his number ones.
If you were doing your job before, then a retool/rebuild wouldn’t be necessary Markstrom. But if you do end up returning a great package you will go down as a great Flames signing all things considered, despite the below mediocre play over half your contract thus far.

It’s not part of the job when you are elite enough to specifically have a no movement clause in your contract
