Does anyone know if the CGY Team Stores (Dome or other locations) have any cool Kipper merchandise out yet?

Or likely only at the Dome tomorrow night?

They missed the boat. Kipper branded Fishing gear and supplies would have been awesome.

Today's Eric Francis story on Kipper has to be one of my fave Francis pieces ever

The David Marcoux anecdote at the end had me in stitches

JAMIE McLENNAN

“I was the goalie coach and we were having a tough stretch, so we’re having a pretty serious meeting with all the coaches and even (GM) Darryl (Sutter) came down.

“There’s a knock on the door, it’s Kipper, and he said, ‘I need to talk to my goalie coach.’

“He takes me into (trainer) Rich Hesketh’s office, and the shades are pulled and I think he’s going to talk to me about something serious.

“Instead, he’s on Rich’s computer and he shows me videos of a guy getting hit in the nuts, and a guy wiping out on a dirt bike like they show on America’s Funniest.

“He’s dying laughing, and I’m like, ‘You pulled me out for this?’”

I am picturing this in my head.

Imagine Sutter walking in and seeing Kipper playing videos of guys getting hit in the nuts.

Kipper seems like a guy who would call Darryl over and tell him to come watch.

Francis is a dick but that article is more reminiscent of The Athletic than Rogers trash. Very enjoyable.

I knew that friend of McLennan's who died in the road race. Young guy, ex-goalie at a high level, he was a very junior member of my law firm at the time. He died so unexpectedly, and so young that I'm sure his family had little in the way of savings, etc. That was great of Kipper (and I never heard about it until today).

McLennan tells another story about how in practice Sutter didn't like Kipper sending huge rebounds out to the point (Kipper was trying to send pucks to teammates). So he told Marcoux to tell him to stop. Kipper responded by sending one way out over the blue line. Sutter got mad and fired a puck - at Marcoux.

(after not having spoken all year), Kipper taps Commodore's leg in practice and says "your hair's too big, get out of the way" and Commodore says "you speak English?"

I mean...they say you've gotta be a little bit nuts to be a goalie, but this guy is just such an Enigma. I love it.

Never made one. I was planning to but I gave up making videos all together after losing interest in the team personally plus a lot of the online fanbase seemed to turn toxic. It took the fun out of working a 2nd job for free.

Fair enough. I still watch your Ferland Highlight video fairly often.

This has been a special week for sure, we pretty much never heard from the guy and now we're getting documentary level shorts.

Love that guy. Wish I could be there in person to see 34 raised.
