I'm all about convicted scouting staffs.

Now lets see where it goes.

But people upset at a 2nd, a recent 2nd and a conditional when the goal posts were 2nd and 1st are really over reacting.

Pretty sure a 2nd and some pocket lint would be between the goal posts. Grushnikov likely worth more than pocket lint.
It’s obvious they really want Grushnikov to make this trade now instead of waiting for more bidding. He is a wanted commodity, not something Dallas doesn’t want anymore

The brightest timeline is that he wins a cup with Dallas (no foot in the crease this time), then returns here in the summer and is paired with Grush (Girth) who he turns into the next Tanev.

I want the Flames to win... but absent that... lets see Tanev hoist it over those broken chompers.

Default Flames trade Tanev (double retention) to Dallas for 2nd, cond. 3rd, Grushnikov

Not sure if it was posted already, Jim Nill has high praise for Grushnikov

You mean guys like Conroy and his scouting staff?

Declaring this as a win or a loss or anything in between 2 days after the deal is fools gold.

It may work out well and it may be a complete whiff, but we wont know for years.

There was 5 weeks of potential bidding.

Sounds like Ceci and a 1st was indeed Edmonton's offer.

Holloway + 1st, would have been annoyed to see us helping the Coilers especially with a piece like Tanev, but would have come around to the two young pieces part… but Ceci + 1st… wow that would have been an interesting thread lol.

Is Ceci any good? I remember his Ottawa days were mediocre. The Edmonton 1st is attractive. Wouldn’t mind dealing Hanifin there for that plus. Edmonton has the top end but not much. Can’t see them going deep.

Would definitely be a rental and Edmonton is likely on his NTC list.

Do you mean people like the Flames Scouting Staff?

Or the Flames Front Office?

Who are these people who "do this for a living" that you're talking about?

I read Ceci and Oilers 1st as a speculated offer. Holland trying to shed a contract with term. Also saw speculation with Colorado 1st plus Johansen too. Seems like the Flames may be putting a premium on taking on money for next year. So they likely got a bit extra from Vancouver for eating Kuzmenko.
