That seems a little excessive.

Thats a very 'European' policy taking the Mondays off.
For example, myself, during Tax Season I work 7 Days a week, after Tax Season I like to be able to take an additional day off.
Unfortunately I am extremely busy Mondays and Fridays because those are the most common days for everyone else to take off, and since I dont report to anyone, I'd take Wednesdays off.
People thought it was odd.
It just depends on what works for your Business or Family.

I checked it out when I was in Missoula- Had to, they have a triple drive-through line, and there were probably 100 cars total- I would compare it to the Taza Costco gas line (we dined in and there was no wait) I thought it was pretty good, but not sure I would drive across the city or wait half an hour in line for it

Probably the holy water they use to prep stuff. I hear they send out their minions each Sunday to collect it. Cheaper than blessing the taps in house, but all sorts of people dipping their fingers in it. Gross.

I assume those guys knew the deal going into that business arrangement...but I'm curious if that would hold up in any court. I assume not.
There sure are some quirky rules out there. I used to regularly walk through a conservative Hasidic neighbourhood in Brooklyn (big beards, woman with wigs etc). On a couple of occasions I was approached by locals asking me to come to their home and turn on/off all their lights. I guess they are not allowed to use electronics on certain days (but funnily enough were apparently were ok with gentiles operating it for them).

I've heard of some of the wacky rules with the hardcores (Hasidics) that technically operating a light switch or whatever is 'work' and cannot be permitted on the Sabbath.
I'm not 'Anti-Religion' in any sense, but guys, come on, lets dial 'er back a little here.
I would say I'm 'Anti-Extremism' in almost any form.
Like, what, you're going to forsake Paradise by using your TV on Sunday?

The fact that they hunt for loopholes in the lord's laws should tell you just how seriously we all should take them.

Yeah, it makes you wonder: "Who are you trying to impress here? If God is omniscient he's going to see you circumventing his laws, so thats not going to work."
God would probably be happier if people obeyed the spirit of the laws rather than the letter of them.

Apart from the workaround, the one kinda amusing thing about the whole no-electronics rule was that one of the world's biggest photo/electronics stores (B&H) was across town... operated by and employing many of the same Hasidics.
Closed every Saturday btw (even the website doesn't take orders that day).

Yeah, I'm with you. But hey, it's not just the hardcore Jews. Every religion has its quirks and obsessions....Hindus have their cows, Mormons have their caffeine, Environmentalists have their single-use plastics...

I wasn't sure if this would be better here or in the cycling discussion but B Line bike park will be shutting down at some point. Here is their situation https://www.blinebikepark.com/struggles/
It is a cool place but I definitely agree with their one point on the website in that it seemed like a very seasonal business. Great option during the cold, dark winter when biking isn't an option for most folks but once it warms up it is nice to be outside and riding a variety of different trails.

Lol. They’ve got my support! Not financial but thoughts and prayers at least.

Could the City of Calgary or the Province of Alberta help out?
No. They’ve given all their extra money to the Calgary Flames to build a new arena.

“Calgary has been a development priority for re-entry for a while and with help from Mike Kehoe and Monica Blachut at Fairfield Commercial we were able to find a great drive-thru site on Macleod Trail. The site is the former Ginger Beef location (9629 Macleod Trail) immediately adjacent to Schanks Sports Grill and just down the road from Ranchman’s Cookhouse,” he said.
“There’s no timeline for opening yet as we are just getting into the permit phase, but I will have updates as our construction schedules take shape. Targeting the first half of 2025 for opening.

Even Krispy Kreme won’t convince me to go that far south. Maybe I’ll get a box and continue going on a road trip to Montana.

If they make the fresh donuts it would be worth the drive. If they are brought in it is not worth it.
