Court denies Trump's bid to freeze $464M judgment, after his lawyers say he'd have to sell properties to pay
Quote:
A New York appellate court on Wednesday denied Donald Trump's attempt to freeze the judgment in his civil fraud case, a ruling that means, for now, that the former president is required to post a bond for hundreds of millions of dollars in the coming weeks.
Judge Anil Singh declined to address the amount of the bond, effectively requiring Trump by default to post a bond for the full judgment of $454 million.
Defense attorneys had said Trump was prepared to post a $100 million bond, arguing he had no way to secure a higher amount without selling off some of his real estate. A bond to cover the judgment in the case would have to be at least 120% of the total judgment -- more than $550 million, attorneys said.
Biden has been the most productive president in a while, even at the ripe old age of 82. I'd say he's getting things done. Now if you're being honest with yourself the most unproductive group in government is the republican house representatives. They haven't done a damn thing besides wild goose chasing. It's embarrassing, the republican party is a joke and they need a full house cleaning.
The Biden presidency has been (pleasantly) surprisingly productive. Which isn't going to stop him from losing in November. I still am having trouble grasping the notion that a majority of Americans are likely elect Trump again.

they aren't and never have

Real wages being down is largely due to the inflation caused by Trump's tax cuts, supply chain disruptions caused by Putin's war, and lingering effects of the pandemic. The effects of climate change could be having an impact too. Also, increased automation and AI is reducing demand for workers in some sectors.
In other news, "Dementia Joe" was on Seth's show last night. Clearly "losing his mind" lol.
Is he worryingly old based on that video? Yeah absolutely. Does he look a LOT older than Trump at this point? Also yes, unfortunately.
Trump is also slower than before, but for him it really just makes him look better. The content of his speech is as incoherent as ever, but delivered at a slower pace, he doesn't look as obviously unhinged.
Is Biden more capable than Trump? Absolutely, he makes a lot more sense when he speaks, he has much better policies, he is obviously the better option, but Biden doesn't look like he can handle another term in this video.
I get why Trump leads the polls, and right now I don't like Bidens chances of turning this around unless Trump finally implodes before the election.
The US is so effed.
Biden should probably try some fake tan and hair color.

I still think Biden wins it in the end. It'll be razor thin, and it'll be months of recounts and quite possibly another Jan. 6th style coup attempt. But he'll probably win.
Outside of the hardcore MAGA cult, Trump hasn't grown his base at all, and his insane bulls*** isn't exactly winning over independents. Based on the amount of Republicans that have been voting against him in the primaries, his base is actually shrinking. Of course these people might still vote for him the general election just because he has red next to his name. But I'm skeptical this time around.

Biden wins over Trump in November. The democrats have overperformed and the maga republicans have underperformed in every single election since the Dobb's decision. Now the republicans keep doubling down in their war against reproductive rights and women in general, even going after IVF and birth control. That is a pure loser with the vast majority of voters. Add to that, Americans have never witnessed a presidential candidate sitting for weeks on end in a defendant's docket, as his flagship properties get sold off by the state. I'm sorry, that will not increase his base. Just having the a-hole constituency locked up won't get him back to the White House.

There's a good portion of his base that want this stuff to happen to him, so they can use his legal troubles as more ammo to say "drain the swamp". Every knock against the Orange Orangutan just entrenches these people more, conspiring deeper about how the system is rigged and how dangerous he'll be once he overcomes it all. Smite enemies, dismantle the system, etc.

Anarchism is taking hold of that base.
Yup. They think it's political. WITCHHUNT! Democratic DAs/prosecutors trying to defeat Trump because he'll win in 2024, as he did in 2016 (and 2020).

All those points are true, but you are still just referring to his base, which isn't enough to win the election. Biden has issues that will detract voters as well, so it just boils down to who is the least terrible candidate leading up to the vote.
I'm inclined to agree with Red Ice that the trend indicates a loss for Republicans unless they reverse course on policies.

Biden had his recent health exam and he passed the physical part well. He did not proceed with the cognitive assessment as per the Dr's orders but I personally think this was a mistake.
Plenty of medical reasons or rationale why an investigation like this may not be warranted from a medical perspective but a political one to be honest. His job, the country (apparently) and more could ride on an assessment like this.
He is taking so much incoming fire regarding his physical and mental health and they decide to NOT test. Rather than potentially (we don't know) pass the test and having a segment of the population shut up, they decide to do the opposite. Coincidence, stupidity or fear of what may result, I don't know.
Personally I think they should have tested and nipped the perception but also the probable reality that he just doesn't have the same level of zip as before. This is coming after enough gaffs and the report that indicated his mental decline.
I'm waiting for a candidate *coughTrumpcough* to blame a legitimate video on AI.
I mean Trump has recently been reposting/quoting articles but removing all the negative stuff about him from them making it seem like a positive article.

It's comical to think that "passing" some test would do anything to slow the incoming fire. There would simply be another layer of conspiracy added to the talking points.

Yeah the whole 'person, woman, man, camera, tv' cognitive test did trump a world of good...oh wait, his bragging about it just got him mocked for bragging about it

Surprised that Mathgod missed that part given his 'its GENOCIDE' comments in the past.
Didn't miss anything. Trump is just as supportive of the Netenyahu government as Biden is, arguably even more so. A Biden presidency is possibly better for the Palestinians than a Trump presidency is; at minimum it's no worse. The Oct 7 attack and resulting IDF retaliation just so happened to take place when Biden was in office. If it happened during Trump's presidency, you'd see just as much money and resources flowing from the US to Israel, possibly more. I think there's also a chance you'd see direct US military involvement in Gaza.
So no, Biden being a Zionist doesn't change anything for me in regards to the 2024 election.
Well I don't know which Presidency is 'better' for Palestinians, but given the conflict I think you have to be pretty delusional to think that Biden is in any way 'good' for the people in Gaza.
