We all really love Tanev but his stats and game are wooing coaches but maybe not so much GM’s and owners. He’s only 9 points and one goal ahead of Marky and hasn’t blocked even half as many shots. He does have more hits though…

He can't force opposing GM's to give him a 1st round pick. It's pretty clear it wasn't there for Tanev just like the pundits were saying all along. It's kind of a Flames luck thing that the year they are sellers is the year teams are stingy at the deadline.

The first obviously was not out there. You are complaining about trading an aging often injured shut down D man who is an upcoming UFA for a 2nd, a prospect who was taken in the 2nd, and a conditional 3rd? That is a nice return, especially as he was a free agent signing in the first place. I am fine with the return.
