Eberle feels like a very Rangers pickup to me too. Replace Wheeler on PP2

Is Hall done for the year? Maybe Oilers could grab him and Eberle and have players from rebuilds 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 on the same team.

Hanifin= FLA for Lundell and LHD Lucas Carlsson
Markstrom (50% retained) = NJD (way too much smoke there), for 2024 1st, Holtz and Casey .
Tanev= Dallas for 1st
Flames acquire:
Kakko and Quick for Vlad and Mangiapane and Vancouver 1st.

Oilers will announce the signing of another all offence/no defence forward, this time from somewhere in Europe.
Someone on Twitter will spend all of 38 seconds on Google to find out that he's currently wanted for murdering his entire family with an axe. Oilers will respond with, "No comment, other than to say it takes commitment and follow-through to win a Stanley Cup - which is something we know a great deal about." Oilers media will post a chart they already had done up and ready to go, showing how axe-murdering has no impact on a player's ability to play hockey (attempting to reassure fans who might think otherwise) - along with a blurb about how he's been a model citizen since arriving in Edmonton earlier that day.
The NHL will announce that their investigation into the player proved inconlusive, and therefore the player will be allowed to play this season.

Zadorov to Toronto for a 3rd, via Calgary (50 percent retained). Flames get 4th.
Tre offers conny five 7th round picks and Ryan Reaves for Tanev. Conny blocks Brad's number.
Markstrom to the devils for David Putty. Putty then flipped to the Rangers for Fox.
Conny lines up Tanev to the grease for Holloway and a 2nd, only to never process the trade and at the last minute sends him to Dallas instead for a 2nd. Frank joins CP to rub it in all our faces.
Hanifin to Boston for Jakub Zboril, Jake DeBrusk, and Zachary Senyshyn (re-acquired from the DEL team for a preseason friendly). Louie DeBrusk retires from sports net and media in general as he can't reconcile his love for the oilers with having to support his son playing for the flames.
Huberdeau straight to our hearts when he finishes the season PPG.

Why would the Rangers trade Quick who has been great for them?

I'm not going to make guesses, but I dont really care so long as Tanev and Hanifin are gone by the deadline.
I dont mind re-signing Hanifin, Tanev seems like damaged goods regardless of how much I like and respect him.
Markstrom? Theres no ticking clock there so Conroy can be patient.
The one that I find interesting that nobody seems to mention?
Kylington.
He's a UFA too. What do you do with him?

I would hope by now management has some idea if he wants to stay or would like a change of scenery or wants a crazy raise.
I also hope that standing by him through the last 2 years has earned the Flames some loyalty.
I'd try to sign him before the deadline at his current $2.5 x 2 yrs - $2 in year 1, $3 in year 2. If he won't sign before the deadline, then he should return, what? a 3rd? maybe a 2nd?
(I don't think there is any chance he would sign a "show me" deal of less than $2.5)

Made this post last week. I think the only changes I would make would be Henrique/Tarasenko.
