I remeber for the Iginla retirement, the crowd was roaring for the ceremony, but it sucked the life out of the building by the time the game started. Both teams were sluggish. The Flames lost 1-0.

Just watched a Flames nation video with Noodles and he spoke of how Kipper was always loose, happy, joking no matter what....even before a shootout he'd be joking around.
Sounds like he kept the group loose . When your goalie d GAF who the other team is or who's on their roster and has ice in his veins that transfers into your team mates.
No panic , just love the game and have fun.
It's fun to come to work no matter how serious management or how dire the situation he behind the scenes wasn't letting anything get to him.
This was kind of thr jist Noodles was trying to convey in the video.
Doesn't surprise me one bit. Kipper was one cool cat.
