lol, you bumped the thread

it was so predictable that I would be right if you were following along. BTC is up 36% since I told you guys about the ETF and the halving just over a month ago...you know when you mocked me.

Also predictable. You guys are a riot. It's nice that I can generate my own entertainment with such a simple comment.

So much so that you come rushing to this thread to comment on why he hasn't commented yet when the BTC price goes up just like he said it would

It's pretty funny to watch

It's obviously the other way around. But nice that he has a little fan club. It's cute.

@Dino7C, with your Bitcoin holdings being close to 1 million, what ensures your investment is safe? Are you using a service like WealthSimple? Would that Bitcoin be covered in case of theft?

I'm currently using ShakePay. I plan to slowly invest more into Bitcoin. Should I look into ledgers if I plan to hold long term?

If someone wanted high exposure to bitcoin through traditional investment instead of owning any directly or indirectly, I'm wondering what some good options might look like.

I'm thinking maybe buying stock in a mining company or someone like microstrategy.

Thoughts?

Is it typical for an ETF to show its value being less than the sum of its assets, maybe a portion of the equity belongs to the guys managing? Looks like 7% in this one.

Just make sure to check whether the companies derive their value primarily via the mining or acquisition of the actual tokens/coins or if they're involved in hardware/software development (intellectual property) for block chain development.

The site is showing the price yesterday for BTC, and it went up today, so is that the difference you are seeing? It has a current 1% MER, max 1.5%.

Winklevoss crypto firm Gemini to return $1.1bn to customers

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68432478

Quote:
"Gemini failed to conduct due diligence on an unregulated third party, later accused of massive fraud, harming Earn customers who were suddenly unable to access their assets after Genesis Global Capital experienced a financial meltdown," NYDFS Superintendent Adrienne Harris said in a statement.
Quote:
The NYDFS also said it could bring further action against Gemini if it did not return at least $1.1bn to customers.
Quote:
In January 2023, Gemini and Genesis were charged by US regulators with illegally selling crypto assets to hundreds of thousands of investors.
