Not even close. Did you forget the part where Ekholm plays for the Oilers?

That's just nonsense.
Not liking the contract is understandable.
But careful when your hatred of a player clouds your judgement to this extent. I get nothing but a guy that cares from Huberdeau; honestly I think that's why things haven't gone that smoothly ... got in his own head.

Exactly
Incidental contact
In fact, the officials blew it because Ekholm actually drew an interference penalty on the play

Loved every single player last night.
From the leaders to the kids.
Honestly I can’t think of a better team effort in some time.
Conny and Iggy and the coaches must have been smiling all night.

That's funny, because I get nothing but a guy who's mailed it in. A cocky athlete who has no drive to win or be better. I will refrain from talking about your golden boy ever again.

Instead of discussing what should have been a positive story with Kylington, they tried to blame him for the collision that took Vladar out of the play for a goal. Ronald in particular even after the game had to mention it again out of the blue. Kylington did nothing to prevent ####head from changing direction before hitting the goalie. He turned exactly when he wanted to.

He’s a point a game in his last 20. So I think he’s got it back. So enough already about the gd contract. What do you think he’s gonna do reject it? We all know know it was Tre’s fault and he’s gone.

Mcdavid trying to show ‘emotion’ by cross checking Rasmus and then immediately getting out of dodge should be in his career highlight reel. I’ve seen regional volunteer wrestlers more committed to the kayfabe than this guy.

Instead of the loser panel SN should hire a Gene Steritoll (?) type who can chime in when necessary. NHL refs never have to pay for their egregious errors.
How that’s not a penalty on Dry Cycle is beyond comprehension.

I love how Coleman flattened McDavid. Guy wants Gretzky treatment and he's running around all over the place diving or trying to start something (like with Andersson).

I dont know. It is a terrible contract in terms of 'points-per-dollar' within the context of a Capped League.
He is not producing at a high enough output relative to his Cap. Thats really the only consideration.
Might that change? Maybe. But right now even though he's on a heater and playing well...its still not great.

I think the plan was both. It's just not a do anything you have to do to make the playoffs plan. So he won't be trading 2nd and 3rd rounders for rentals to try and get in.

Did I watch a different game? Beautiful saucer pass to Dryden Hunt to setup the eventual GWG, engaging physically with Ekholm, I thought Huby was excellent last night and has been playing well since the calendar turned to 2024.

Yes, his plan is to not lose assets for nothing, get younger and rebuild the prospect pool. The get younger part is where he is trying to have a competitive team that can make the playoffs (Yegor/Kuzy). But I am quite confident he is not going to hold on to UfAs because “they are internal rentals” because it goes against the broader plan.

It seems that some will never look past the points for Huby or even consider any other positive contributions.

He makes great passes, can’t deny that part of his game. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the puck enough to take over a game, and for that reason in hindsight he’s the wrong type of player to give that kind of contract.Water under the bridge now.
But if he can play like this for next few years, you don’t have to hide him in the lineup at all. Hopefully this point a game pace is the case of water finding its level, and not a heater.

If the NHL has any shred of accountability they would suspend the refs "working" the game last night. Those weren't ticky tack calls they were not calling. But clear intent to injure players. And yet we're not supposed to talk about the clear bias the NHL has trying to will that disgusting bunch of losers to the promised land for those sweet sweet marketing dollars.
