Surely they understand this is not the window of contention for this team and trading for young assets and futures in order to compete 3-4 years from now is the strategy. Players aren't GMs. They are aware of the talent level of the team, but you play to win the game. Winning is more fun than losing, and for players, that means tonight, not 5 years from now. Their feelings are understandable.

But as ComixZone said, TFB - the organization does have to worry about 5 years from now.

I disagree. I think they had the horses to be a solid playoff team, they don't have the right coach. It doesn't matter because two key pieces in Lindholm and Hanifin were not staying anyhow. Huska is fine for the next few years while we go through some pain to get better, then he needs to be punted.

I just don’t see it.

Wasn’t a playoff team under Sutter, unlikely to be a playoff team under Huska.

This roster is the definition of overpaid mediocrity.

No amount of coaching fixes Huby. He needs to be a star for this team in order for them to make the playoffs. Two years in and it's clear he can't.

Huska is not encouraging players to give away pucks up the middle or to play soft, not finish checks or do flybys of the net instead of going to the crease.

Outside of a few guys, they just don't bring it every night. That's lack of professionalism.
