Not saying they wouldn’t want Markstrom , I just don’t think they would pay the price for him .

I think you are right that Carolina just rolls with Kochetkov and Andersen when he is back. Kochetkov had a great game last night putting up a 44 save shutout against the Panterhos.
Only way it would work trade wise in my mind is if Andersen is included and he has a 15 team no trade list and doubt he waives it for the Flames.

Preach it. Although in my mind if the C we get is an established young NHL'er then we need exactly 1 in these transactions. My thought process is that the Flames DO need two centers but we need one of those centers to be a legit #1 center, except by happy accident we aren't going to find those in a trade this year (or likely at all in trade since legit #1 C's are so valuable) so then really what we're looking for is a guy who can play in the top 6 while the guy we drafted to be that legit #1C develops. I really hope one of Celebrini (if the lotto balls drop our way), Lindstrom, or Catton is available when we pick. Do that and target D prospects with the rest of the transactions and we're set.

Yeah, plus Carolina would be more of a team trying to get Markstrom 33% retention at the end of last year for a C prospect and like a 3rd round pick. They tend to look for distressed assets that they can get back to form.

Hanifin and Tanev it is.
Markstrom is going to be a forever a Flame.
Thanks Fitzgerald. Hope New Jersey misses the playoffs so he can get more rest.

I’m just hoping Jersey goes on a bit of a run and bites the bullet but I hope they trade markstrom either way in the summer. They can probably get away with a worse return and no retention

What are you on about lol? Nothing has been confirmed with regards to Markstrom, find some patience.

They need a goalie to go on a run.
Sleepy Tom is costing his team points just sitting idle.

The hope with Jersey is that ownership wakes Fitz up and tells him to make the playoffs.

If they lose the next two games then playoffs are likely cooked. Need them to keep hopes alive.

Maybe he is one of those people who replied mentally to the text, and is waiting on Conroy.

I don't think it's dead yet, but it certainly feels like time is running out. To me, it will be disappointing and feel like a wasted opportunity if it doesn't happen. It just feels so obvious ... I mean, look at yesterday. Markstrom helps steal a game with 32/34 against a good Boston team, while Daws goes 13/18 in a loss.

I'd rather just get someone who is more likely to stay than to try and trade them in a few years because they won't extend long term. I could see him pouting having to play in Canada rather than California or a big eastern market like New York.
Zegras seems to me more like Adam Fox than he does Dustin Wolf.

12th in goal for and 26th in goals against. 15th in shots against.
Its so obvious what the issue is.
Marky was making big time saves last night to keep us in the game, and has been the only reason we are in the race.

Yesterday the stat line between Markstrom/Daws couldn't have been more pronounced. If that doesn't solidify the need to do the deal for NJ, nothing will.

That's a little surprising. I thought Vasilevskiy, and Shesterkin were having a down year.
Hellebuyck, and Demko should be up there. I didn't watch much of Sorokin, but I would take either BOS goalie over him this season.

Apparently Brodeur does not like American goalies lol. But, that bodes extremely well.
I maintain faith that Craig will do the right thing and trade Markstrom by the trade deadline.

It’s all depending on the cost. His value is probably at the lowest now
If it works out, even if he doesn’t want to stay, they can still get a haul for him.
Sure you want to get someone that want to stay but who?
