Yup, it gave me some hope that not all of our government and MPs are just vassals of the US, though the vast majority are so it doesn't matter.

You might be jumping to conclusions. It’s not like his last 5 posts have been you tube posts without any explanation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has informed the United States that he opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of any postwar scenario, underscoring the deep divisions between the close allies three months into Israel's assault on Gaza that aims to eliminate the territory's Hamas rulers.
The U.S. has called on Israel to scale back its offensive and said that the establishment of a Palestinian state should be part of the "day after."
But in a nationally broadcast news conference, Netanyahu vowed to press ahead with the offensive until Israel realizes a "decisive victory over Hamas." He also rejected the idea of Palestinian statehood.
Netanyahu, who leads a far-right government opposed to Palestinian statehood, repeated his longstanding opposition to a two-state solution. He said a Palestinian state would become a launching pad for attacks on Israel.
He said Israel "must have security control over the entire territory west of the Jordan River," adding: That collides with the idea of sovereignty. What can we do?"

So what does that mean for Palestinians? Posters here have denied Israel wanting all the land, but isn't that what Netanyahu is saying? Does he just plan on them living in a smaller and smaller ghetto? Why does he never actually say what his final solution is? He won't give them citizenship in Israel, yet wants complete control over them.

Israel wants to geography, but not the demography of historic Palestine.

When a person deep dives into the history this has always been the resolution that certain Zionists have always wanted for the land dating back to before the 1900's. This is the reason for so many different sects of Zionism forming as even amongst themselves, they had differing views on what a modern day Jewish state would have been, but also on how to achieve their goals.
That being said, as with most things in social revolution, the team that comes out on top are the ones that are the most violent and move through the system with underhanded tactics, for example the pre-state Haganah performing espionage during the Peel Commission meetings and then setting up watchtower communities in order to justify the claims for more land being granted sovereignty.
Quote:
suddenly they find themselves in unrestricted freedom and this change has awakened in them an inclination to nepotism. They correspond the Arabs with hostility and cruelty, deprive them of their rights, offend them without cause and even boast of these deeds; and nobody among us opposes the despicable and dangerous inclination - Ahad Ha'am 1891
|
The whole area/scenario is a giant mess, and honestly with how humanity is, I can never see there being a positive resolution and outcome for either community, this will be looked at in history books as what not to do.
Note: As my message mainly points out Zionist issues, I am neither pro-Palentine nor pro-Israel. I am only reflecting historical events that have contributed to the current situation within that section of the world.

EDIT: I see now during the evening news that the US was the only country to object to today's cease fire motion at the UN. It was mentioned that the UK abstained (oooooo, you're going against your owner, UK, you best have an explanation for this!).

This thread has turned in a beating of a broken drum, people need to get it thru their skulls and accept the fact that Israel will not stop until Hamas is broken, after years of suicide bombings, missiles and the taunting's it's clear they truly don't care about the Palestinian's, I'm sure even the worst of the worst Jew would prefer not to kill the innocent but this time they have had enough and will not stop.
If the Arab world is so concerned about the innocent Palestinian's how about they make their rally's against Hamas and demand release of the innocent hostages!

Where is the Arab world? Where are all the rich Arab countries? Why aren't they taking in refugees & opening their borders or finding other ways to help?
Pretty much 'crickets' from most of them.
Some statements to condemn this or that, but certainly no border being opened, camps being setup, etc.

I know right, its not like they literally went and built a super fortified border wall with Gaza to keep all the Palestinians out of their countries.

So because the "Arab world" has abandoned them, the rest of the world should too? Cool.

Any solution with Palestine / Gaza has to include the Arab world playing a part.

It’s good because nobody ever thinks to criticize the Arab world.
