If they do it isn't me. Love the BB guys and their show but I have never had communication with them.

Hey the guy grew up idolizing the Bob McKenzie’s and Gino Reda’s, he looks like who he aspired to be… just has a Benjamin Button version of it going on lol.

FWIW today Barn Burner brought up the Frank Tampa comments and kinda threw the agent under the bus (rightly so) for likely leaking that if it's true and putting the Flames in a ####tier spot.

It puts both the player and the team in a weakened position which is why it's likely straight up BS.

Do people actually think that organizations even give Frank Seravalli the time of day, let alone use any of his gospel to set the trade market? NHL GM's are always in constant contact with each other and don't need rely on outsiders for information. Maybe all the trade banter is weighing on some of you (understandable) but it's kind of funny to see some of you piling on insiders for doing their jobs as that's the kind of gossip we love when the Flames are buyers.

Wasn't Dreger the guy who said something about the Oilers and "simple math" about them achieving some success (The Cup? Playoffs?) during their decade of darkness? That's when he lost me.

To be fair to Dreger and other pundits that said that...it should have been true.
Adding McDavid to their three other 1st overalls, and the prospects they had at the time should have led to a cup.
The fact that it hasn't now almost 10 years later is actually hilarious.

Missed who iy was on 960 about 30 minutes ago, but he said that Holtz was the center piece on the return from NJ that fell through but was also positive that Vanacek was not included.
Everyone is waiting on the Flames and what they are doing with the Dmen. Said everyone in a playoff spot sans the Flyers and likely the Kings are talking to the Flames about one or both guys.

Yeah, NHL GM's pay zero attention to "insiders". Why would they?
They can just literally pick up their phones and talk to whomever the GM is of the player(s) in question.

I still believe Mercer is the centrepiece the Flames want from NJ.

Good, I hope Conroy makes that the hill he will die on. If it doesn't happen trade him in the summer

I don't think Markstrom has a market in the summer.

Why would that be? The Devils window to contend is just starting and they will still need a goalie.

I think we have a pressure point right now for them.
The offseason you have a lot of time, not as much pressure and things go dead. They can easily pivot to another option, free agency, something cheaper.
Plus goalies don't tend to return much.
It seems Markstrom has a market right now with peak value.

Yeah I don't see that at all. (no market for Markstrom in the summer)
Assuming he isn't a tire fire from March 8th to late April and doesn't get a serious injury.
Market could be worse, or better.
But it should have more teams involved (plus)
But it has one less playoff run (negative)
Biggest risk to me is it being a lower value return than what they see now which forces them to wait longer and risk that 11-20 finish with a strong goaltender.

Oh Im sure he is but he isnt on the table so they pivoted to Holtz and other pieces.
Wish I had caught who it was because he sounded really confident in what he was saying.

The market may be there, I just don't think he brings the same value.
Goalies are like running backs in the NFL. A lot of teams would love an elite one, but many will go into free agency and plug and play someone. They are getting drafted later now as well.
