My favourite podcast covered Predator this week. Man they don't make them like that anymore.

No I made an account to buy tickets and I'm trying to hit the 100 post minimum. I love talking about movies and figured this is the fastest way to get there.

I hope you continue to post after you hit 100 and don't just sell on the ticket forum. We share similar tastes and god knows we need new blood.

You know that is a very nice sentiment. I usually am not a very active person online, I am very private. Thanks for the encouragement!

Well. I can't say I've seen that before around here, and why anyone would want to buy tickets to this edition of the Flames is completely baffling, but I commend you on the honesty.
You're clear about your intentions and I don't ask for much more than that. Frankly, I wasnt even aware there was a limit.

Haven't seen it, but I'm hot and cold on Taika. I think he's brilliant but he needs someone to hit the brakes on him from time to time. For instance, Thor: Love and Thunder could have used a little more temperance, that movie was clearly just 'Taika off the Chain.'
Our Flag Means Death was fantastic but it was starting to hit the rails a little bit...
Jojo Rabbit however, is, in my mind, an absolute masterpiece.
A sarcastic Hitler as an imaginary friend? They ain't puttin' that in the IF Ryan Reynolds movie I'll tell you that!

This one had me always thinking it was just about to get good, but never really took off. Feel they left too much unfinished business at the end as well. Didn’t regret watching it, but wouldn’t watch again.

Haha yes I moved back here from Seattle and more than anything I'm missing live sports and live music. Plus I just like to get out of the house. Moving can be pretty lonely to get established somewhere and I just need some activities.
I definitely enjoy Jojo Rabbit. I think Hunt for the Wilderpeople is my favourite of his movies, and Boy is a close second (it's inspired by the short film he was nominated for at the Oscars). But that being said I'm colder on What We Do In The Shadows than the average person.

Harry Styles' dance scene and the absurd amounts of oral sex in the movie give glimpses that it could be a cult classic, but it didn't go off the rails enough for that.

I like the Jeffery Wright nom, but the Sterling K Brown nom surprising to me especially since supporting is always a stacked category.

This is helpful.
Honestly I see myself posting after I hit the 100. I started a 2024 oscars thread that I want to engage with!

Hunt for the Wilderpeople was a great one. That was just a love-letter to New Zealand. Local shots, local cast, cant go wrong with Sam Neill and the kid was excellent.

Rachel House is perfect in it too. I love any time she pops up.

I just watched 'American Fiction' and it was, no word of a lie, fantastic.
Wright's performance...I dont know what to say, I think it just really spoke to me.
For starters, I love his voice, secondly...there is something about a character who is frustrated with life, cynical and sarcastic that just speaks to me. He was stellar!
I really liked that movie. Highly recommend.
Also it makes fun of dumb-ass Corporate White people which seemingly never gets old.
