Bob Lang has been traded.
He's heading to San Jose, along with Dimitri Afanasenkov and cap considerations for Tyler Arnason and Jarrod Smithson.
"We've been after Arnason since the league was running the Sharks." claimed GM Prottotype. "I sucks that we had to give up cap to get Lang, and then give up cap to move Lang, but the fact of the matter is we got a player we think can help the club move into a playoff spot next season."
It is believed that Afanasekov was to make too much money for where he was slotted to play next season. The Nordiques have been trying to price out how valuable the player is at each position, and how their contracts jel with their line mates. After some calculations of where they think their RFAs will come in when it comes time to sign on the dotted line, there was just no room for the two traded players.
The Nordiques wish Lang and Afanasenkov all the best on the west coast, and look forward to what Arnason can bring between Kotalik and Calder, and what Smithson should provide on the 4th line and PK duties.
