Again what has he done to alienate progressives?

My guess is he'll have to ask the Saudis to pay a bit more for LIV golf to play at his courses....assuming his courses stay his...

Continuing to support a genocidal regime has been a pretty big one, especially with younger voters.

Doesn't seem to be much in the way of far-left issues in there, unless we're rebranding everything centre to moderate left as 'far-left' all of a sudden. Seems to me there's things that would play well for young people on either side of the political aisle so long as a party would come out and actually do anything about it.

Those are far-left issues because the US essentially has 2 right wing parties.
The US politically is still in the 20th century.

Social Media Reacts To $355 Million Verdict Against Donald Trump
Quote:
As might be expected, the news that Donald Trump had been fined more than $350 million in damages by the state of New York for decades of fraudulent business practices quickly spread across social media on Friday afternoon.
One of the people who had an “emotional” reaction to the news was the former president’s niece, Mary Trump, who called the verdict “the end of my grandfather’s legacy.”
She added that it has “taken over half a century but Donald’s ability to commit fraud with impunity has come to an end — at least in New York — and trust me, that matters to him.”
The judgment includes a three-year ban on Trump serving as an officer or director of a New York corporation. Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are banned for two years, and each was ordered to pay more than $4 million.

He has done some student loan relief, but only after a huge amount of pressure from progressives.

Which conservatives were furious about and appealed to the Supreme Court, which overturned it saying that it needed to be done as an act of congress. So you can more blame congress for that.

I don’t know why being critical of Biden is so taboo around here. I was that person too, once, and honestly afterward you just end up feeling like an idiot for defending someone who sucks because they suck less than the other one.
Plus, it’s not like 99% of you can vote in the election. So, who cares? Who is actually at risk of voting for Trump if people are mean to Biden in this thread?

Isn't pretty much everything listed there being hung up by the GOP? Similar to Obama, Biden is a bit of a lame duck as the GOP control congress and won't pass anything. The border bill they wanted is a prime example of that.

I don't think it's about criticizing Biden or anyone else. Criticize all you want. It's just the reality of the situation is, do you vote for the guy who accidentally burns the house down, or the guy who gleefully torches the house of everyone who upsets them? The first is a terrible choice, but when the choice is between A and B, what does criticizing A accomplish other than to drive people to not vote and thus let the idiots vote in B?

Nobody is voting for Trump because of what they read on CP. Especially as the logic would go, "Huh, there are hundreds of posts about Rapey Don being a dangerous fascist demagogue with the mental capacity of a used loofah, but there were also a few posts saying Joe Biden ain't all that and might want to move aside for a better candidate. Conclusion? TRUMP 2024!!!!!"

Yes there is a significant aspect to people getting worked up about criticizing Biden here on CP, and the US. The Republican's are a little more honest in that they feel Trump is their #1 guy to win the election. Right or wrong, his supporters are hard core supporters.
The Democrats are pretending that Biden is the A team, the top star, in his prime and tending upwards in terms of performance. Everybody who isn't a homer see's it but people are too polite to do anything about it.
If Trump loses, a lot of people on the Republican side will be happy to get rid of the problem in a lot of ways.
If Biden loses, people are going to wonder how on earth this happened.

The Republicans can govern fron any position, even in minority. For example, they can block Obama nominating one Supreme Court Justice but the Democrats could not prevent Trump nominating three.
The problem is the Republicans have no problem blocking laws that help everyone to score points by hurting Biden, and they know the Dems wouldn't do the same thing to hurt a Republican President. If Trump was in office and a Bill came up that would prevent price gouging, the Dems would never refuse to vote for it to pin high gas prices on Trump. Its impossible to play politics when one said is willing to act in bad faith to hurt their own. Hell, it's a plus for them, so they can say "see, Government doesn't work"
