We can relax regarding Hanifin and Tanev. With Markstrom different story, considering the past 12 hours of rumours.

If last night is a preview of post marky flames, I’ll pass. I know everyone loves Wolf and that he’s the second coming and all, but goalie is the most important thing to get right and there has been zero evidence that’s he’s even an NHL level goalie. Too big of a risk to take right now.

Markstrom will get dealt, if and when he gets dealt. I wouldn't get to wrapped up in the immediacy of it. You're going to give yourselves an ulcer.

You can relax more than that. It's literally 9 AM; got all day. Hell got all day tomorrow. Sunday too. Monday as well. It doesn't have to be done immediately at CP's impatient convenience.

At the end of the day, Markstrom is a 34 year old goalie. If Wolf doesn't work out, the Flames need another long term option, and it isn't Markstrom.

You’re right, I think we should hang on to our 34 year old, $6M/yr goaltender through a retool where we won’t be competitive.

I agree that we shouldn't be giving ourselves an ulcer, but nothing wrong with being excited.
I'm not worried, just looking forward to them addressing some long-term needs (hopefully).

After a small sample size, Conroy may be thinking exactly that. Remember he insists on staying competitive during the retool.
I was fortunate enough to get some lower bowl seats that were right behind Wolf in periods 1 and 3.

He is in no way ready for the big show right now. As bad as the club was in front of him (looking especially at Weegar) Wolf was worse.
No idea what he was doing on that first goal but it was that 3rd period that was stunningly bad.
If they do trade Markstrom, they have to get another starter in return as neither Vladar nor Wolf are that.
If you wanna destroy Wolf long term however, then keep feeding him to the....wolves? He really needs way more seasoning in the A.

If the goal is to be competitive again in 2027, Markstrom won't even be under contract with us unless we re-sign him at 37 years old, which is doubtful.
I agree that Wolf doesn't look ready to be a starter, but that just means we need to find another veteran goalie. They don't even have to be "good", as we probably won't be super competitive over the next few seasons; they just need to shelter him a bit. Vladar might even be able to step into that role.

I have a good track record recently of not being near my computer when a big story breaks for the Flames. I have an appointment this morning and will be away from a computer from about 11-12:30, so it will happen then.

If Conroy changes his mind on a Markstrom trade after a single game then I question his management skills. Vladar or Wolf could be a starter. I hope we find out
