It has been a bit of a pattern of not having a killer instinct against the crap teams. They usually dominate early and score first. Then don’t capitalize, start coasting, give up some freebee goals and proceed to embarrass themselves and their fanbase.
Funny thing is the don’t really do it against the top teams.
Oh well. Such is the way of a non playoff team I guess.

Pretty obvios Marky's teammates knew his time in Calgary was done and they played like it tonight. Looking forward to seeing the return.

No, the idea is that he's no more special than any other Flame goalie flavor of the month.
Some people think paying $14 million for 2 years and 25 games of Markstrom is worth Mercer and a 1st round pick. I'd love to see it.
Do you think the next 80 games of Markstrom will be better, the same, or worse than the 33 games we've seen this year?

And some people think goalie stats from the dead puck era are directly comparable to goalie stats in the highest-scoring period since the mid-90s.

As I said in another thread that was an absolute clownshow. I hope Huska tore a complete strip off them.

Yeah, it was completely predictable they were going to lose this game, they just can't seem to get up to play the teams below them in the standings.
Canadian division missed the Playoffs due to being unable to beat Ottawa.
Last year missed due to loses against Chicago and Columbus.
This year 99% likely to misses the playoffs due to losses against Sharks, Columbus, and Chicago.
At least 3 games with Wolf in net the team has played like absolute garbage in front of him, tough for the kid to get confidence when his d just keep turning over the puck to a grade A scoring chance.

Boy, if that ain't true...
This game was more on their desire to put in a good 60 minutes than Wolf being unconfident. The d-zone giveaways led to the collapse.

I'm guessing the original plan was probably for him to play one of the afternoon games...but something changed

They weren't but when your starter is on a heater you sometimes change plans to try and make sure you get the points you should have rather than risk your backup having a bad game or the team not showing up in front of them.
