Such a perfect fit for the Devils. Path one is that it galvanizes the team into a playoff spot, on a hot streak. Path two is if they miss this year they still have him for two more years just as their hypothetical window is opening.

So then what roster player were you thinking? Because Holtz+ a bottom six roster player and a meh prospect is a hang up by Craig Conroy.

I don't see where Holtz fits on this roster going forward. He isn't a checking winger, he needs to be in your top 6 to meet his potential. Assuming the Flames will keep Kuzmenko because he seems to unlock Huberdeau and with Coronato needing top 6 wing time next year where are you putting Holtz? It makes no sense to me unless you are definitely flipping Kuzy.

Yeah. His PPG in the NHL since 2021 isn't all that different from Dylan Holloway's NHL career.

At least he's scored 12 this year which is something. But he's not exactly jumping off the page in the NHL so far.

If Holtz is the young roster player that 1st would be a must for me.

I'd take a lesser pick with Mercer and a cap dump to get it done.

I would think that Conroy stepping away and Fitz re-engaging means that Mercer is the main piece. Guessing Mercer + prospect + draft pick for retained Markstrom.
