He may just in fact be cursed

Hes been the best player in europe this season arguably, no where near his fault

Yeah lame ducking in this situation makes little sense. If he were a club legend or whatever and you want to give him a dignified exit, sure I guess. But it's more likely than not he already commands little respect from the players, this isn't going to help that.

On the one hand, you'd still expect Arsenal to win this tie with 90 minutes left at home. On the other, it's Arsenal in Europe so total humiliation is just as likely.
