It's his left shoulder that was operated on right?
I thought although he got hit on his left should it was the right arm that landed on top of the boards that looked sore.
Could have my sides mixed up though.

No you have that correct. Kind of hit in the left shoulder / head area and it was his right arm that went into the boards a bit.
I think he probably got called into the dark room by the concussion spotter TBH, and why he had to leave the ice / game.

Yes, it was the same shoulder, but I think you're right
The contact between him and Trouba is on the left shoulder, but I think the boards did more damage to his head/right side.

Here's the Studenic hit with Pelletier's left shoulder hitting the boards

I hope Pelletier doesn't make a habit of this.

A habit of having his injury discussed in the Trade Rumors thread instead of the adjacent Pelletier injury thread, of course.

Looks like things are starting to heat up with all 3 Flames being the top 3 trade baits heading down the stretch for this trade deadline. This is exciting!

Someone mentioned above that a western conference team already has, so likely holding out for best offer at this point or not a fan of the counterparty possibly

Rumour is a conditional first. Waiting for a 1st period

Question about a Tanev trade:
Assuming you had a choice from a particular team:
Would you prefer a second that could be a first if team advances to final 4 (or some other conditions that is relatively uncertain)
Or just a second and third, no conditions.

Didn't know you could acquire a 1st period in a trade! Extra home revenue for Murray Edwards I guess, which wouldn't be surprising for him.

Nashville is less eager than Calgary is to shed Saros. He is only 28. Askarov certainly seems like the future for them, but at this point, I don't see why Nashville would take the gamble without being paid handsomely for it.
Gibson isn't the same goalie as he once was. Perhaps playing behind a good team, he can regain his form? Seems like you are rolling the dice there, however, and for a team that has already rolled the goaltending dice, would it be smart to part with assets for a potential fix? Or do you package up a bit more assets and get the best performing goalie available right now?
Ok, maybe they punt this season. The Devils are certainly young enough to do so. Then what? Sign one from the UFA scrap heap?
https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/goaltender/ufa/
I don't see an upgrade. Maybe a few gambles, but no clear upgrade for the Devils. I see stop-gaps at best, an interesting reclamation option or two, and a few 'worth a roll of the dice' options. Even then, some of these will get re-signed by their existing clubs.
Fleury is not the answer as a #1. Quick is certainly having a great season, but would the Devils' rivals be wiling to help out the Devils? Especially considering that Sheshterkin (the best goalie in the NHL) isn't playing close to his usual level. I think you can cross Quick's number off the list, and I am not sure that's a good enough gamble anyway considering his age.
One team that should be really damn scared is Toronto. They are in the first wildcard spot, and I don't think they will catch anyone in their division. Woll is not back yet, we are not sure when he will be back, and there is no telling how good he will be when he returns. Will he pick up where he left off? i am not saying that Toronto should be trading for Markstrom (though I do believe they should be in that mix), but I do believe that they may actually miss the playoffs. Devils are sitting just outside of the playoff picture, and find themselves there because of all the injuries and poor goaltending. Injuries are mostly fixed now (with Hamilton being the only really core player out), so it leaves goaltending as the only really glaring hole. I think they blow right by the Leafs with solid goaltending.
It will leave the Leafs fighting it out with Detroit for that last playoff spot, and to a lesser degree, the Islanders who are also there. Toronto has to make a move. Can you imagine the uproar if they miss? Considering all that draft capital already spent from previous seasons? I can see them missing, especially if the Devils acquire Markstrom.
LA is the next most likely destination. Do you continue rolling the dice with Talbot and Rittich? They certainly have more problems than simply goaltending right now, so if there is one team with a good reason to just punt the season, it is them. However, Kopitar is still their best centre, and he is 36. Doughty is their best defencemen, and he is 34. I am not sure they can really afford to do that.
I think Markstrom gets a healthy return. Conroy has Fitzgerald over a barrel here. There aren't more attractive options - especially as other options are either going to be more expensive (Saros) or just another roll of the dice. Markstrom is 'on' right now. Carolina has been doing well lately, but they could use a clear upgrade in net, even if they find themselves comfortable in the standings at the moment.
Solid goaltending is not easy to find right now. It is definitely holding the Devils back. I think Fitzgerald has to circle back to Markstrom.

If I were NJ, I’d be more inclined to pay the ransom for Saros because he fits the age of that core and their competitive window.
Markstrom may cost less, but that’s ~2-3 seasons of elite goaltending and their window should be much longer than that.
If the rumoured prices are true, I’d just pay a little bit more for Saros since you’re already forking over a ton.

It's the same thing as Marky from what I'm seeing. Only if the price is right.
I've seen rumors though that Saros is Carol8nas priority guy.

Yeah, that's unknown. Just in response to the goalie market at large from the previous poster, that's where I'd be doing my pitch if I were NJ. Given Askarov behind him, I bet he could be had for the right package, but that's pure speculation.

Saros only has a year left after the this one and then will need a big contract. They’d be taking the gamble that he’d re-sign for a reasonable value.

I don't know if that matters as much for the upcoming draft. If the pundits are right, there is a steep drop off after number 20 or so.

Right, one more year than Markstrom. So that's probably reflected in the trade package.
