Maybe he wasn’t but this is the bluff to get Mercer involved.

Happened to Calgary in the Eichel deal.

Conroy has learned a few things in his years behind other GMs.

I hope we keep Markstrom. I am not yet sold on Wolf at the NHL level.
Would rather make room for Wolf by moving Vladar over Markstrom.

Yeah, you'd think Conroy would just get it done if it was a huge return, but he did do the same thing after getting that huge Lindholm return agreed to so who knows I guess.

I doubt the Sens or the Oilers have a real chance of getting him. Flames would likely not want to trade Markstrom to the oilers and I doubt Markstrom would waive to go to the Sens.
 |
Sens need goaltending, but it’s not as if they are a goaltender away from being a Cuo contender. No way they give the Flames what Connie wants for Markstrom, so his willingness to waive to go there is likely moot.

I believe Conroy would trade with the Oilers, but the return would have to be a blue chip home run.

They have Korpi their fine in net. That team young and will pop shortly.

The breakdown of how the Lindholm trade came together also sounded like Conroy likely said he'd follow up with the other interested teams as a courtesy, which led to Vancouver upping their offer.

I have to think there's a good chance NJ will circle back or the other teams will match/beat their offer still.

Hope LA hears this NJ news, gets all desperate, disoriented and excited, and then sends over Quinton Byfield to put an end to this high school GM drama, much to the surprise of a happy and bewildered Connie. Then Rob Blake goes and parties with Bacardi on Sunset Boulevardi.
C'mon LA, DO IT YOU COWARDS

I wonder who we are using to get NJ to up the offer.

I bet Buffalo wishes they had Tkachuk now.

There was legitimate concern he wouldn’t resign in Buffalo. That wasn’t a problem for Tuch, he’s a Buffalo native.

Conroy controls the cards with Markstrom because there is no deadline to trade him.
Conroy to Fitz:

Same #### happened when conroy and Vancouver made the deal with lindholm. Just Pat didn’t get pissy.

Whole team has been wildly inconsistent. That trickles through your roster including your goaltender.
