Are Clarke & Bahl any good?

Nothing special.

I'd do tanev 50% and the 1st we just got from Vancouver for lian bischel, straight up. Coming out of a a lindholm and tanev trade with a future top pairing of bischel and bruiser-vich, would be pretty sweet.

Not sure if it was posted anywhere, but Schwindt was assigned back to the Wranglers this morning.

I'm guessing it's mostly to save some more cap-space. The move could also be a reaction to Pelletier going down yesterday. In case the Flames feel like they need a 4th line W instead.

And/or good news on Pelletier as the Flames like to have an extra forward on hand. The Wranglers being in Calgary always obfuscates the thinking behind these moves.

Beginning at 17:43 of hour 2 of Real Kyper and Bourne from today, Elliotte Friedman discusses the Flames' approach to the deadline. I'm just listening to it now, but I thought I'd let others know.
Friedman says "yeah, they're looking to move", in response to Nick Kypreos' comment on Calgary, "they have to unload".
Nick Kypreos said he heard someone say that Calgary might be willing to go to 8 million dollars per year for Hanifin. Friedman says the offer to Hanifin earlier in the year, was 8 years * 7.5 million, and he hasn't heard of an 8 million dollar offer. He thinks the offer remains 8 years * 7.5 million. He says Calgary had a verbal agreement, but Hanifin ultimately changed his mind. He says he doesn't know what the answer is from Hanifin's camp. He says he believes Hanifin prefers to go to the United States, but Hanifin softened his stance at some point, but he says that's still the preference. But he says that even if Toronto traded for Hanifin, they would have a very tough time signing Hanifin long-term. But Hanifin would be happy to play for them until the summer.
Friedman says Calgary is trying to get a 1st for Tanev, and there isn't a 1st on the table for him currently.
Friedman says he would've said Calgary was rebuilding well if they would've got what he thinks they were gonna get in return for Markstrom.

Came into the thread to use "obfuscates" in a sentence. Beaten to the punch. Well played.

It's a great word to use in written form but whenever I try to pronounce it, I often obfuscate it.

With the Flames having so many Wranglers up and down this year it has mostly become non-news at this point.
Players that played for both Wranglers and Flames:
9 Forwards
---
Zary
Pospisil
Pelletier
Coronato
Rooney
Duehr
Hunt
Schwindt
Klapka
5 Defensemen
---
Kylington
Oesterle
Desimone
Solovyov
Kuznetsov
1 Goalie
---
Wolf

So many have said cheering for a rebuilding team would be painful, this actually is pretty exciting times.
Can't wait for the next move.

Scorched earth rebuilds take longer than 3 years for sure, and maybe we can just dismiss the “r” word conversation at this point and we can just talk about the “2027” plan.
The plan is to be a better team for 2027.

Friedman said it was “scuttled” right now, but wouldn’t say it’s dead when he was talking about it.
Frank said it fell apart for unknown reasons.

I agree that rebuilds "could" take longer but even come 2027 if the Flames were a team on the rise that wasn't quite there yet it would be considered a success for opening night 2027.
Unfortunately, we aren't getting a top 5 pick this year without some luck. Over the next couple years, we have tons of guys that can land 1sts in trades though and have a lot of quality young guys already playing or ready to take spots.

Trading Jacob Markstrom will get them a top-5 pick.
