The whole unwritten code thing is sports is so pathetic. Bat flips, hanging on the rim, and hockey is by far the worst. Why are these pro athletes such delicate snowflakes that everyone has to play the game the “right way”. Isn’t the whole point of score keeping to show up your opponent?
I thought the slapper was great (for a team and fans that haven’t had much to cheer about) and especially when your home barn is over half full of Leaf fans. But, I also think that the Reilly suspension is going to be overkill, and likely should have been about 2 games.
It was a no lose scenario for Greig. End of the game, don’t play the Leafs again this season, and you knew it would make them crazy. He would do the same thing every time.
As for the Leafs, when your reputation is the softest team in the league, this is going to happen. Absolutely no one in the league has any fear of Reaves. He doesn’t fight, he just skates around shaking you by the collar.

The Perron suspension sets the precedent at this season at 6 games...my guess is they end up giving him 5.

I tend to think the real suspension length could hinge on how George feels today...this is the NHL.

And for that reason alone I support this course of action
(actually I would like to see basically every suspension length doubled but this would be more than that; 8-9 games is what I would actually do in my version of the league where punishments are much harsher especially for intentional acts)
