It's baaaa-aaaack!
The 2007 World Series of Poker is almost upon us (moved up almost a full month this year), with the first event set to start on Friday, June 1st. That means we've all got one week to get our picks in for the 3RD ANNUAL CPuck WSOP Fantasy Pool.

OFFICIAL RULES:
Objective: Pick any 25 poker players you wish and rank them
from #1 to #25. Each time one of your selected players makes
the final 16 in a tournament, he/she will recieve a point
value based on his/or her finish. You can only enter one team.
Point System: If you are familiar with the Commerce's point
system, this will be the same with one exception: If the
tournament pays LESS than 16 places, only the players who
made the money will recieve points.

Ranking system: With so many teams having duplicate picks,
the ranking system adds even more strategy and fun to the
pool. Your point total for any given player will depend on
their finish multiplied by the spot you ranked them.
EX/ Say you had John Juanda ranked #4 on your team, and
he won the first tournament. You'd get 50 points for the win,
multiplied by 22 for his rank for a total of 1100 points.
The ranking values are as follows:
Rank Multiple
1-25
2-24
3-23
4-22
5-21 ... and so on.
Events: All WSOP events will count towards the total with
these exceptions:
Casino Employees NL Hold'em (event #2)
Ladies No Limit Hold'em (#17)
Seniors No Limit Hold'em (#41)
Also, the final WSOP NLH Championship and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event will be worth DOUBLE points.

To Enter:
1) Deadline to enter is 1 PM MST, FRIDAY JUNE 1ST. To accommodate those people who for whatever reason miss the deadline (holidays, missed the thread, forgot, etc.) I will accept late entries until 6 PM MST, FRIDAY JUNE 8TH, with a 50 point penalty for each day over the deadline, and, obviously, no points for the events that take place in that timespan.
2) You may post your picks in this thread, or if you want to keep your team private until the 1st, PM them to me (Ro) here at CPuck.

If you'd like me to (try and remember to) send you a reminder a couple days before the picks are due (May 30th), reply in this thread and let me know you want in, and I'll do that if I don't have your picks by that time.
Also, if anyone has any questions, post them in this thread or PM me and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
For those of you wondering about updates, I will try to have them in every 4 or 5 events or so. I think all those who took part the last two years will tell you that the overall pool was good fun. Here are the results from the past 2 years:
2005 (only picked 20 players each, and no double points rule):
1st- Jiggy_12 - 7686 pts.
2nd - VANFLAMESFAN - 7338 pts.
3rd - Ro - 7172 pts.
2006:
1st- Mike Oxlong - 13312 PTS
2nd- Fire - 12970 PTS
3rd- Ro - 12534 PTS
