Leylah back in action and victorious in her return at the Qatar Open 7-5 7-6 over Liudmila Samsonova.
for that one big moment alone I suppose most people would still take Raducanu's career up to this point, but I wonder if that will still be true 5 years from now. Or does that USO trophy trump anything Leylah does unless she matches it?

Yeah, I think we'll need a few years to see if Emma can 1) stay healthy and 2) get back to the form that we know she is capable of before we can make a definitive call. Emma is showing flashes of her US Open form, but it's the consistency she is lacking these days. As for Leylah, the highlights below illustrate that she is getting back to the form we know she can deliver.

Milos is also back in action and defeated a young Dutch guy in his first match in Rotterdam 7-6 6-4. The big man is always dangerous on an indoor hard court.

You know, when you're struggling this much to beat the #170 ranked player in the world in your favorite playing conditions (indoor hard court) it's a clear sign that you need to make changes.
Edit: A complete frame shot that luckily falls in followed by a double-fault by Cressy. Felix survives to advance to round 2.

One up and one down thus far today - Shapo lost to Monfils in two close tie-breaks while Milos just now defeated Bublik 6-4 6-4. I read some positive reports on Denis despite the loss while that's a great win for Milos over a very in-form Bublik.
Bublik has been playing great tennis lately so that's a good win for Milos. Shapo's just going to have to take things one week at a time and hopefully he's getting good practice time given he's not going deep into tournaments.
Leylah just now defeats Zheng Qinwen 7-5 6-3. She was down 5-3 in the opening set and rolled off four straight games to take the opening set. Really nice tennis from Leylah again today as she records a victory over the 2024 Aussie Open finalist.

It's a process, but the Milos of 2-3 years ago that was making 1000 level finals and going deep in majors fairly consistently is still there. I think with a few more matches we're going to see a pretty solid player.
Win or lose, here's hoping he gets out of this event healthy whatever happens so he can attack Indian Wells and Miami at full strength.

That one break was all that was needed as Felix takes the opening set 6-3. Looking so much better today than he did versus Cressy. The serve is working well today as is the forehand, hope it continues.
there's a spicy rumour out there that Rafa's SA ambassador role is because they bailed his academy out of a large amount of debt. Kind of greasy stuff, I hope it's not true.
