Giroux with the old “no comment” when asked about it post-game.

If he knocked him over with a push or a shoulder I’d say it was one thing, I don’t mind that kind of stuff. Take the penalty, send a message, I can get behind that and long for a player who will hot dog and get the better of a guy coming to challenge the, that’s the kind of drama that makes rivalries great.

But a cross check to the head is a special kind of stupid. The kind where a disciplinary meeting could be whittled down to one question: what the hell, man?

Dont shoot it too hard...or too soft (Patrick Stefan you should be ashamed of yourself) lol what a game.

If you don't like getting scored on or losing...play better

Well, if we're going to compare this to football... slapping a puck as hard as you can into an empty net, from 10 feet away with 5 seconds left on the clock, is the same as a football team scoring a touchdown off an interception to put them up by 13 points with 5 seconds left, and then the kicker picks up the tee and runs into the end zone and spikes it as hard as he can after kicking the 1 point convert.

Do you guys remember Flyers-Habs in the 87 playoffs? The Flyers beat the crap out of Claude Lemiuex for shooting at the Flyers empty net in the warmup!

Flames players would get roasted on this forum if an oiler scored an empty netter like that and flames didn’t respond.

An empty netter like that deserves a response every day of the week and twice on Saturday night.

I know the nhl is soft now but come on…

That panel is pathetic. Bad takes all around. Including Hrudey.

How is that not a significant suspension coming in? It's after the play, and Rielly goes way out of his way to do it.

10 games or the league is junk.

...so it'll be sub-10.

Wasn't that the same series that Hextal came out and tackled Chelios in? Late in the last game of the series, Flyers were going to lose, Chelly comes in along the boards about halfway into the zone, and Hextal just threw his stick and gloves down and went ripping out of his crease to tackle him lol.

How "soft" is it that someone shooting the puck too hard into your net causes you to totally lose your ####?

Way worse than the Rasmus play… at least that play somewhat resembled a hockey play. This should be min 6 games or it’s just another feather in the cap for the league.

No that was two years later when Chelios eliminated the Flyers (got their revenge) and played the Flames in the final.

What's interesting about their comments is they're implying the punishment should be less because "he deserved it" for showboating.
Should the league start factoring in if the victim of a bad hit deserves it?
How about if you hit a guy who has a history of suspensions themselves. No suspension for you because they deserved it?
