Convenience store run this evening. It's getting out of control...

Moderate sized jar of peanut butter? $12.

Pack of AAs for your tv remote? Pony up $25

The products are no better than they ever were, it's just basic ####. But prices are at a ridiculous premium.

#### off.

This reminds me of the pop at the superstore liquor store. Why would you buy any of that there?

Did I say I bought it?

I ain't paying that. I just marveled at what these places are expecting customers to shell out for common household items.

Stuck to eggs, which go for roughly the same everywhere.

Costco is probably the most economical place to get those items anyway, if you have can live without tv remote control batteries and peanut butter for a night.

It sounded like you bought those due to an emergency or some sort of duress.

Peanut butter and batteries? That's a hell of a Thursday night you had planned. Sorry it didn't work out.

Foiled by convenience store premium pricing. Does 7-11 even care that they’re wrecking peoples lives!? What the hell is he going to do with just the eggs without the peanut butter or AAs now?

Convenience stores jumped the shark when 5 cent candy became 10 cent candy a while ago.

It's almost like there is a price to pay for convenience.

Like that sign you'll see at a mechanics shop:

Good
Fast
Cheap

Pick two.

Yeah. The drugstore isn't your standard 7-11 or circle K and their prices have jumped dramatically in recent months which is the gear in this instance. The latter two have always had a premium for the sake of convenience. That's why they should never be your first choice.

TL;DR: duh.

I made the mistake of calling it the convenience store I guess.

Mentioned batteries and peanut butter because I'd like to throw a bunch of each in a burlap sack and beat the snarky peanut gallery dip####s with.

Getting in the way of a man and his GMG is just rude behavior. Don't you know we come here for emotional support in these wild times? Get with the program, jerks.

We are "with the program". You misunderstood the purpose of this thread(despite it being laid out numerous times). You posted your complaint, and it was judged "not a gear grinder" for the myriad of reasons already explained. if it was a valid grinder, you'd have people in agreement. It wasn't so you didn't. Don't lash out at the game when it doesn't go your way. Accept the judgment humbly and move on. That, as they say, is "the program" you need to get with. If you want non-judgy emotional support we have a thread for that. This is absolutely not that thread.
