By that time Brodie had played 2 full NHL seasons and had a 41 point and a 31 point campaign.

By that time Rasmus had played 4 full NHL seasons and put up a 50 point campaign.

I would not hold out much hope for Liljegren. The package that was proposed was basically Knies, him and a 1st plus a cap dump in a UFA who holds negative value for a Vezina calibre goalie this year and a dman that is expected to fetch a 1st on their own and is one of the most sought out assets on the market. If Markstrom is only worth Liljgren, a cap dump with negative value and Knies I think I would rather keep Markstrom.
I wouldn't call him as a guy that can't stick in the lineup. He has been a regular for 3 years. That said, the fact that Keefe selected to scratch him in both series against TB is a bit concerning. Liljegren is averaging about 19 mins a night this season, he was around the 18-min mark last year.

Now, I'm not saying that Liljegren is absolutely great at everything, but I think his value is closer to a 1st than a 3rd.

but remember guys, Tanev is not worth a 1st lol.

Dreger confirms that the Rangers were another team that made an offer for Lindholm, but it didn't include their 1st round pick because the Rangers owner also owns The Sphere in Vegas and he wants the Rangers to have a 1st round pick in this year's draft.

^^ Owner meddling at its finest!!!

The way Conny is going after 1st's for 2024 is Murray Edwards the majority owner of the Sphere or is he just singing with Bono at the draft?

Eff the Rangers. Those a-holes get to pay whatever the Leafs or Oilers pay plus 25%. Tampering jerks.

Haha wow, what an absurd reason to use to prevent your team from making a deal. That's brutal

Names floated about were Schneider and Kakko. Wasn't for Lindholm though. At least I think. Not really legitimate rumors either.

Of all the teams that are supposed to be competitive this year, the one that needs to improve its defence is Toronto IMO. They definitely need Tanev especially. I just don’t see Treliving paying up. I don’t think he has ever paid a first round pick for a rental and ai really think the flames would need to get a first round pick for a tanev if it’s the sample leafs… not just because of the optics of trading with their former GM but because the Maple Leafs do not have any 2nd round picks for the next 3 drafts. I don’t see much for prospects in their system that I would consider of equivalent value to the 2nd round pick+ other teams are likely offering. For Toronto to to get Tanev, they’ll have to give other 1st round pick.

There is no rental premium with mangiapane. There is a premium for buying an extra year under contract, with retention. And there is no reason for calgary to be a cap team next year. Smart move would be to sell him this season.

I would have been fine with Kakko + a 1st. I’m guessing if Schneider and Kakko were offered as a package then Lindholm would be a Ranger.

I would rather the package we got from Vancouver than Schneider and Kakko.

I would think it’d have to be Cowan plus a third or something. Cowan seems to be more of a 2nd line player who shuts guys down if things work out for him.

All things considered, the Canucks deal is better.

Kakko is a reclamation project. Only upgrade would have been Schneider.

But as Conny said. They want 3 pieces and one of them had to be a 1st so I doubt the Rangers would have met it.

Doesn't matter, Kuzmenko is fun. And Bruce is tracking just fine to be an impact D man on this Flames roster sooner than later.

Not sure what you mean Cowan is more of a Tanev. Cowans a small forward producing at just under 2 ppg.
