Was excited for this, but the first two episodes were just ok.
It could just be my undeniable hatred for Austin Butler's acting.
His acting is fine, but his face is just too pretty to take seriously. It's hard to accept him as a WWII pilot when he looks like he just stepped out of a Calvin Klein ad at all times

I know this project started a while ago but having so many familiar faces in the cast is a definite negative for me. I wish it was more unknowns like BoB.

As am avgeek and a WW2 buff I'm sold on this series. But it has an almost impossible bar to measure up to in Band Of Brothers, almost anything will seem like a step down compared to that series. I felt the same way about The Pacific.

I'm already more invested in this series than I ever was with The Pacific. It's much easier to follow a set group of guys than it was bouncing around following separate individuals

He hasn't left his Elvis phase. He still does this mumbled, Mississippian accent with a pouty/smolder.
And yes, the way he looks is part of it. I can't be the only one to notice that he is the only person on the show that pops his bomber jacket collar.
Episode 3 was good. It's a good story, but I would rate the Pacific higher, to be honest.

I'm not really an Avgeek but I am a WW2 enthusiast.
I think its good so far...I actually think they should be concentrating more on the planes, as the planes seem to really be the stars of the show.
I'm not even going to debate you about comparing it Band of Brothers. Thats just hopeless.
I like The Pacific. I LOVE Chernobyl. Band of Brothers is still the best.
Its going to take something amaze-balls to top Band of Brothers. I hope the day comes because whatever that might be will be amazing, but it hasnt happened yet.
The thing with this show is that they're not endearing us to the characters. They all look mostly the same and are either barely fleshed out or just unlikeable.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

The End of the F***ing World is a great little mini-series. It's only two seasons with short episodes as well, so not a lot of time investment needed. Tons of good lines and laughs, a bit twisty and turny. Loved it.

With the extremely high casualty rates for bomber crews during this period of WW2, the show probably can't really spend too much time on fleshing out many characters because they won't be around for long.
The CGI is bad… like comically bad… like flying cow in Twister bad. I agree with Locke that the characters are paper thin… that said I’ll probably keep watching…

This could be good. It has a “Our Flag Means Death” feel so it might be a worthy replacement. There have been other shows about Dick Turpin, who was a real highwayman, but I’ll watch anything with Noel Fielding.

This is disappointing to hear. I've been looking forward to this, but am going to wait until all episodes released, then binge. Hopefully this series gets better.
I too haven't been thrilled by the CGI, sometimes it's ok and then you get some real wonky stuff and flight physics that don't make any sense (the spinning around the vertical axis B-17 in episode 3 for example).
Not a series, but watched a few minutes of "Greyhound" (AppleTV) and the CGI on the sea shots was bargain-basement abysmal. If you're gonna use CGI at least put in some effort!!

Not really a series but I've been enjoying After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson. I've always liked her stand-up, and the show is structured more like a British panel show with obscure or on-the-rise comedians just riffing. After a little settling in it's gotten pretty good.
