Raiders fans call Davis the turnip for a reason. Just a weird post for you to be poking at the Raiders for making an OC hire that's really not that bad relative to the other hires this offseason. They surrounded an inexperienced head coach in AP with an experienced GM and two former head coaches in Lewis and Kingsbury. Not sure if it's going to work out but at least he's trying to learn from past mistakes by having experienced football people in the building.

A slam dunk would be bringing up the fact that Derek Carr (a player you clearly have something personal against) threw more TD passes and almost half the interceptions of Hurts this season.

How many playoff wins do the Raiders have this century?
EDIT: I also just really dislike KK. He's the classic example of a dude who just continues to fail upwards.

I'm a Flames and Raiders fan. I am very aware of the futility of the teams I cheer for. Davis deserves a lot of criticism for his hires and hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt. I get that. KK may not work out for sure but nobody really knows who the Raiders starting QB will be next season and if it's O'Connell (he's a good kid and all and could be a decent backup but has cement boots for feet) then good luck on any OC coming out looking clean. I'm assuming the Raiders are looking to nab a mobile QB given KK's history of working with mobile QB's. I just hope it's not Fields as that would be very Raiders.

Van Pelt was hired by the Patriots for the OC role. He wasn’t really calling plays for Cleveland so bit of gamble but it wasn’t really a desirable opening.

I will say that the one positive with KK is he's very unlikely to get poached for a HC job if he performs well as an OC.

I think it's actually pretty astute of Pierce to get some veteran guys around him. Let's face it he has no experience running an offseason program or installing an offence. As a mid-season replacement you're mostly motivating the players and relying on the coordinators to do most of the game plans. Going from position coach to Head Coach is a massive leap and sure to fail if you don't surround yourself with experienced people.

Time for the annual Eric Bienemy questions too. Will he be kept on?
Guy needs to get out from under Andy Reid, goes to Washington with a QB with a decent arm (but that's it), one serviceable WR, and perhaps negative linemen, trying to make that work while the defence couldn't stop a Bounce dryer sheet blowing in the breeze.

Speaking of KKs, 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak is now the new Saints OC. Also, not sure I've heard of a passing game coordinator before...I just thought he was the QB coach.

Probably for the best. Granted I'm more of a casual NCAAF fan so haven't watched him enough, but the few games I have, I came away unimpressed. I think he has bust-potential (at least in terms of expectations for a possible 1st overall pick).

I dunno about that, there is really not one thing he isnt really good at and he is pretty cerebral too.
I think he becomes great if not elite. Im a USC honk though so I am biased.

He was pretty ordinary against good team and great against bad teams.
Maybe it’s the entire team that was the issue who knows.
Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be generational and he has not looked great.

Last year they were second in points scored.
They were second last in points surrendered.
Williams was certainly not part of the problem with that team.
They gave up 126 pts in their last 3 games, over 240 in the last 6. Historically bad defense by USC standards.

KK should never ever get a HC job in the NFL ever again. He set the Cardinals back years.

Well Raiders fans much preferred KK to Getsy. Always embarrassing when you have to circle back to a guy who clearly knows wasn’t your first pick.
