I’d give them Markstrom for another Lindholm like haul. Then sign Tanev and Hanifin if they are into it.

Don't need no DeAngelo at any cost. And Anderson just got off IR.

I don't think The Cobra is salivating.
In a perfect world, the Edmonton Oilers wouldn't be a carbuncle on the backside of the NHL and an obsession of the patsy Canadian media.
In a world imperfect enough for those things to happen, the next best thing would be for the Oilers to do a completely embarrassing faceplant and miss the playoffs altogether.
For them to get swept in the first round would be very appealing, but I for one won't be awarding extra E=NG points if they win the division before doing so. I'll happily settle for the scenario in which Vegas beats them with a thick ugly stick in four straight, Vancouver beats Vegas (to give the Flames that conditional 3rd), and Winnipeg beats Vancouver (because wotthehell).

Anyone see a mangiapane dump at some point? We have a ton of young wingers that need spots. He’s the guy I would move. Maybe for a 3rd line center.

So the Flames start the post all-star break with an eastern swing to BOS, NJD, NYI and NYR... time for Hanifin, Markstrom, Vladar and Tanev to put on a show!
Markstrom pitching a shut-out in Jersey would just be so much fun for the chaos it would cause.

He gets more next year than this year IMO. Also, there is a chance he has a better season next year.

His cap hit is high for what he brings. But he has 1 year left on his deal and I don’t know if brings much in a trade. Maybe a change of scenery type deal? I don’t think he gets anything close to the contract he currently has.

Maybe for Frost.
Mangiapane feels like a Torts style player and would fit in well with the Flyers current core.

I don't see Mangiapane having a lot of trade value without significant retention, which is kind of a hard sell with a full season remaining on his contract.
I imagine Conroy is fishing for a C as part of the return for either Tanev or Hanifin.

Not specifically saying he will move but now that Lindholm his best friend is gone maybe he’d be more willing.
Marty Biron also said he thinks Marstrom will move.

I think Markstrom is our biggest poker chip. There are a lot of contenders that need goalies. He’s almost our oldest player and we have a goalie surplus.
We need Hanifin and Tanev more than we need Markstrom.

I hope they move markstrom. For a second line center and a high draftpick.
I think if the move both Hanifin and Tanev we’ll be a trainwreck.

Retention on Mangiapane would bring a big return, and the Flames won't be a cap team next year, anyway. Does anyone else think that Pelletier can take that spot on Back's wing?

FWIW Marky and Backs seemed to have went to Mexico together and Lindholm went to another area.

That's the thing. Even with lindholm leaving and sliding a winger to Center, the Flames still have too much wing depth with Oelts on the verge of returning.
I can easily see the Flames moving Mangiapane.

I also don't know how Lindholm and Markstrom managed to survive not playing on the same team for the many years prior to sharing the ice in CGY. That LeBrun angle is limp noodled.

Yea its not like they're tied at the hip, but with rumors already mentioning Markstrom may want to compete for a cup its not completely limp imo.
Its definitely a cherry picked angle to take, but I doubt what Lindholm does has any barring on what Markstrom wants.
Biron's bit on thinking Markstrom will be moved was before the Lindholm trade fwiw.
With that said it, Lindholm definitely sold Markstrom on Calgary being able to play with him.

I think Sec214 said in the past the Flames have a ton of interest in Lundell? I could see him being a target but not sure how that would look in a potential Hanifin deal? His ppg are on pace to go down for a third consecutive year after a 44pt in 65 games as a rookie he is only on pace for 33 over 82 games.
I still see him or Frost being targets of the Flames to try and add a young center before the deadline.

There's been a couple of young centers rumored that Conroy was targeting. Can't recall if was the CP insiders or elsewhere but....
Minten
Lundell
Wyatt Johnston
Seen one on Twitter that it's Pinto they want from Ottawa for Tanev but Tanev doesn't want to go to Ottawa.
I think we see a Center under 24 as the center piece in a Hanifin trade.
