Nope not true.

The worst were the players on that team. Kessel, Ruutu, Burrows, Cooke, Bieksa, Lapierre, etc

The actual roster at the time was the most unlikeable collection of players in NHL history.

The fans around that time period were a bunch of arrogant d-bags, but the players were still worse.

Generally though over a longer period of time I find Canucks fans much more bearable than Oilers fans who were ridiculous homers even when the team was in the most pathetic performance of hockey in NHL history over the span of 10 years.

Can't believe we have to wait till 4pm to get dedicated discussion about the trade from a calgary perspective. Seriously, they can't start Flames talk at 1 or 2?

Are you suggesting that because he's a Canuck fan I can't disagree with his take?

You should know better given how often Flame fans take issue with your takes.

btw, I've been here since 2004 which was 7 years before you showed up.

The Oilers fanbase was at least somewhat knowledgeable. That Canucks fanbase had no idea who half the players on their own team were. It was the worst. Only made bearable (and even enjoyable) by the beating, literal and figurative, they received from Boston. The rioting after the loss was so characteristic of that fanbase. Without an opposing losing team to take cheap shots at, they took it out on themselves.

Even at that number once the Canucks sign all their guys that need contracts will they have that kind of cap space?

Not my job to figure that out. It's just a very reasonable contract for Lindholm.
