I love this trade.

Lindholm has not impressed me much lately, and Kuzmenko has always seemed like a dangerous player.

Throw in a first plus two solid prospects, a 3/4th, and best of all a huge motivation to cheer for Canuck losses!

Let's hope this move jacks with their chemistry like when we picked up Jokinen years ago.

Feels just wrong for them to be apart now and looking like shells of their former selves, with the exception of Tkachunk.

Fun core. Too bad they couldn't build on it more than they did.

The best would be for Lindholm to score a hattrick in his first game for them and then promptly scores 1 in 26 after.

Helps playing with Pettersen who can create space in the zone to get initial shots through, but nice to see someone with that in tight space skill, who isnt afraid to stick around the scoring areas. Flames just have to do the same, but that's easier said then done as their game is built in speed more then zone possession, so that may be a problem.

My guess it Tocchet's offensive zone style changed this also to more of a speed style, and no longer is him just making his way to the front of the net, enough.
So he's going to look great playing with Huberdeau?

Huberdeau-Zary-Kuzmenko
Pospisil-Kadri-Coronato
Coleman-Backlund-Mangiapane
4th line mnah manh.

Then, I suspect Mangiapane gets moved then you slot Kuzmenko down to Backs line, move Pelts up to Hubeys line and let it ride for the rest of the year.

Yeah I'm projecting a mangiapne trade but dang it, it just makes sense.

That’s the Jokinen move. I remember the flames being on an absolute tear the year they first acquired Jokinen. They were just a few points behind Detroit for first in the west. The Jokinen trade happened… he scored a hat trick in his first game and looked like he could have scored 3 more. Then, if I remember correctly, over the next two-three weeks, the flames lost Bourque, Bertuzzi, Langkow (i.e. all of their secondary scoring) plus Giordano and Regehr to injury. Jokinen struggled to produce and fit in with Iginla and Cammalleri. The flames ended up limping into the playoffs and faced the up and coming Blackhawks… got some horrible luck in that first round against them as well. The rest is history.

Huberdeau-Backlund-Sharky
Mangiapagne-Kadri-Coleman
Pelletier-Zary-Kuzmenko

The huberdeau-kadri experiment never really worked don’t think they play a complimentary style. Backlund and huberdeau seem more complimentary.
2nd line is all jam
Get Zary playing center with pelts who is also a smart player and kuzmenko who can be triggerman

Skillwise, Kuzmenko and Huberdeau should be a fit but if Kuzmenko is as slow and defensively poor as mentioned earlier, I don't see how they don't get filled in by other teams. Especially, if Sharangovich is their centerman.

I think Lindholm’s best deal is going to be the original offer Calgary made.

Doubt Vancouver will be able to afford that.

Oh well. Ya snooze ya lose.

Pelletier-Zary-Kuzmenko looks spicy.

I was thinking the same thing. Sharangovich is listed as a center on Hockey dB. Assuming he has played there before

Sharangovich looked fine as 4th line C earlier this year, no issues with giving him or Zary a look at C.

In terms of a nickname for Brzustewicz...I vote for Hunter the Hungry (And Connor Zary should be Connor4Real)

Hopefully Kuzmenko turns it around and brings back something nice at next years deadline.

I’m curious what the other offers were
Conroy mentioned “lots of teams involved”

Whatever the other offers were, what more could you ask for than this? 33 games of Lindholm for a 1st rounder plus goodies. I'll take it.

looks like the Flames need to acquire some right shot centers in next few trades or draft picks. All their centers are currently left shots with Lindholm now gone.

Lol. Yes, because there's clearly empirical evidence that shows that that is absolutely a required necessity.
