Long time Canucks media guy, Don Taylor spoke on Canuck Central about him hearing that Zadorov hasn't been a fit with the other Canuck players in their room since arriving. It's a bit surprising to me given how new he is, but maybe it shouldn't be, given this was the same issue he had in Calgary...

I think he’s pretty good as a 5/6 guy, he’s just not as good as he thinks he is. He gets exposed a lot, but I did like watching him when he hit. It was fun to watch that. And every now and then he can make a nice play. Problem is for the last few months with the Flames it was less and less of that. He needs to reintroduce the physical element to his game, it’s what makes him noticeable and more effective. But, he was never meant to be a top 4 kinda guy and he isn’t worth what I can only assume he thinks he’s worth. But like $1-2mm for him? I’d do it. $4? Pass. Best on the Flames? Laughable.

He's a premium 3rd pairing guy, but you probably shouldn't pay 4m for that. Kinda like when the Flames paid 3.5 for Stone, except he's better than Stone I guess.

Fair enough, 1.5M-2M yeah okay...still not long term though. As is he would be 6 on the Flames too, the first five are far superior.

Zadorov is a fantastic 5/6 guy. He's looked very good for that role. You don't pay that role 2.5m+

Ethan Bear just signed for that role for 2m per year for two years. If you sit back in UFA and you'll fill that role for cheap and get equivalent play.
