I just hope one of these pathetic losers that was directly or indirectly involved has the backbone to come out and admit to what actually happened, including any history or traditions that have been talked about as part of this team.
Probably unlikely given how much time has passed but better late than never.

There is no chance of this because they’ll plead not guilty because they’re going to argue she consented and they’re all going to try and avoid prison time.
They are 100% going to smear the victim. It’s part of a legal defense in cases like this and I’m very positive the victim has been told this, and to prepare emotionally for it.

I get the impression that we will never, ever get the whole truth.
Not even in 30 years in a tell-all memoir. We will never know the real, whole truth.
And I'm fine with that. 7 hockey bros and a drunk girl alone in a hotel room with the questionable accompaniment of pizza. I can pretty much guess what happens next. I am okay with the vagaries.

"She said Yes!" - Despite clearly being intoxicated
"She came to the room!" - with 1 guy not 7.

Alex Formenton, a former Canadian world junior hockey player and ex-member of the Ottawa Senators who currently plays in Switzerland, is facing charges in London, Ont., his lawyer said Sunday.
"The London Police have charged several players, including Alex Formenton, in connection with an accusation made in 2018," lead counsel Daniel Brown said in an email. "Alex will vigorously defend his innocence and asks that people not rush to judgment without hearing all of the evidence."

Please tell me that Hockey Canada isn't paying for the Lawyers.

Same goes for the Flames. If Dube was involved, why did the Flames let him play right up until the moment he was told to turn himself in for arrest?
I mean, Ottawa knew about this and didn't sign Formenton.
Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I imagine there are people other than the 5 being charged who know exactly what happened.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone in that bigger group actually has a conscience?

Completely agree.
Speculation is it was Melnyks daughters that refused to let the team sign Formenton.
Whoever's call it was, it's so disappointing to see them be the only team here with some integrity

This has already been discussed, but the employer cannot 'punish' the employee based on speculation. The players were not charged with anything and the teams would open themselves up for a lawsuit if they had acted preemptively.

Quite honestly man...I'm not ready to jump to conclusions.
We dont know who did what or who knew what or when.
We can make some very educated guesses, but again, for all we know Dube is a stand up guy, professed his innocence and the team believed him.
It doesnt look that way at the moment, granted, but...who knows?
I want MBates in here. Lead us to the light man! How is this supposed to go?

It goes back to what they knew, what they shared and their decisions thereof based on that information.
But...if they share that information around the League and it turns out he didnt do it or gets exonerated but cost him work due to their statements? They are open to being sued for that.
Its very convoluted.

Probably right, Dube, Hart, McLeod and Foote had contracts when this HC investigation came down, Formenton was an RFA
