I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I get upset with bad play because it seems like the flames are trying to hang in the race and make the playoffs. If that's the case, it's frustrating to see the team play poorly because it's just going to land us in the mushy middle again.
If they start selling off UFAs, and other valuable pieces that aren't going to be part of the teams long term future, I'll adjust my expectations.

Far too early to give up on under 24yo D-Men. Reichel is failing. I suppose Anderson or Blackwell have played up to a 4th rounder or something, I can't imagine demand for Middle line forwards would bring much else.

You said Mrazek was your top trade asset.
That is not true.
You have 4 or 5 young guys that would bring back great assets.

Yeah, Bedard is more valuable than anyone in the league, but they aren't trading him. Mrazek was a trade chip for the same reason our guys are: neither of these teams is going anywhere this year, so might as well get what you can from a playoff team.

Timbit...At the deadline, goaltending always seems in high demand. I guess bad +/- and single digit scoring doesn't seem as valuable, to me. And we've got a lot of expiring contracts, where assets would not have to be spent except for playoff need.

Not hard to figure out Eliotte. One goal was scored by an Oiler so obviously that one will count.

On that Edmonton goal...Demelo did hit Hyman, but, it did look like Hyman did, also, reach out to hit the goalie in the head as he passed by. It is ridiculous to defend.

Bad minus stats is synonymous with players who play big minutes on poor teams.

Amazing what some confidence will do. That was Lindholm’s best shift in a month.

Katchouk is the type of player you want, guy blocks it and still tried to block another after getting smashed. I like him.

THIS
precisely
A bad team is a bad team
A team where pride, effort and winning are further down the list than they should be is what we have now
after getting everything they wanted too

This incredibly terrible Bedard commercial is so strange. I believe this girl who’s locked out of her car is supposed to be his sister? Maybe? She phones him and seems quite surprised he’s at a practice in Chicago.
But yeah I dunno, something tells me that if you have Bedard in your phone contacts and he’s willing to answer your call (let’s say she’s not the sister or something), you’d know where he plays hockey. Just a strange and weird commercial all around. She acts like it’s the first time she found out he’s in Chicago.
