Most likely.

Half of playoff success is getting hot at the right time (i.e. panthers going in hot and bruins cooling off after winning all season). When April rolls around its likely a couple other teams will be the ones on heaters.

At the same time no reason to apologize for tearing it up, even if the schedule had played into it favorably.

Problem is the streak will just be a footnote on the season when all is said and done. Have to do it when the games matter. And obviously that's a much tougher situation than this one.

Haha. So that’s basically 4 playoff-calibre teams they’ve faced during this entire run, and not one of those teams are legit top contenders, except maybe the Rangers. With this baby soft schedule and all the days off they’ve had between games, this has to be the most unremarkable winning streak in NHL history.

Hardly any travel either.

For the first two games, they were already in New York, then the Christmas break followed by a short hop to California, home for 2 games in a week, then a short 3 game trip to CHI-DET-MTL, then back to Alberta for 5 of 6 at home with a quick hop to Calgary for 1.

Other than the flights to and from Edmonton, the longest city-to-city flight in that span was Detroit to Montreal.

I was in the van with my kids picking up my wife from work. I got back in the van and my kids were being a little Saucy so I said to them "that's it we're going to edmonton!" And my daughter without skipping a beat replied "eeew no, boo Oilers!"

I saw that a few days ago and I don’t think we’ll go after Lindholm so it’s a moot point anyways but isn’t the return Calgary looking for a 1st plus a prospect?

To be completely honest the player on Calgary we should be most interested in is Tanev. Solid player and what the team needs.

"Prospect". He has 14 points in the AHL. Adam Klapka had 21 in the same amount of games.

If they thought their Stanley Cup clinching game last year was important, the Knights are about to have the single most important game in their franchise history in about a week's time.

Their victory made history but now, they can literally stop history by beating the Oilers on February 6 and ending the winning streak that should've never happened.
