Default Boy Bags Wild Hog Bigger Than 'Hogzilla'

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...=1&image=large

Quote:
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.

If the claims are accurate, Jamison Stone's trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.

Hogzilla originally was thought to weigh 1,000 pounds and measure 12 feet in length. National Geographic experts who unearthed its remains believe the animal actually weighed about 800 pounds and was 8 feet long.

Regardless of the comparison, Jamison is reveling in the attention over his pig, which has a Web site put up by his father—http://www.monsterpig.com —that is generating Internet buzz.
Holy crap that thing is huge!

I'm really not a fan of this, not because I am an animal rights preacher, but rather, how many of these giant boars can there be in the world? My guess is not many and in the past three years two of them have been killed. I don't know if it is a different species or just a really big pig but that is one of the thoughts that crossed my mind.

Past that, the last thing that fatass needs is more food.

Maybe it's real, but I'm having a hard time beleiving that boy killed that monster with that gun.

He would have shot it and it would have charged him and ruined his life before high school girls had the chance to.

It's believable, I saw beasts of comparative size when I was in New Zealand. I freaked out when I saw one them on a farm, I couldn't believe how big they where. They had long black and orange hair.

Insanity. Pure, unadulterated insanity.

It's my understanding that these are ferrel pigs. Hope I spelled that right. Their lineage goes to domesticated farm pigs, not wild pigs. They absolutely destroy their range and grow to enormous proportions.

its always amazes me how little is known about the animals that exist, especially when its is realized that only 10% of the ocean has been explored. Do you remember all the unknown species of aquatic life was uncovered during the tsunamis, lord know what else is down there

Nope. Feral.:chair :

That thing looks like it weighs a lot more than a thousand pounds. It's the size of a rhinoceros for crying out loud. Do you get those things down Kansas way?

Guarantee that's photoshopped, just like that image of the guy holding his massive cat, and the dog that was the same size as that one guy's horse(both turned out to be fake).

EDIT: Just saw the pic when I wrote this. Upon further inspection, it seems to be real. Crazy!

Actually there is quite a problem with feral pigs (thanks for the spelling fix!) in about a 60 square mile area of farm land/timber just south of us. I don't know that any of them have even begun to approach this size though. The difference in geography between us and the timberlands of south Georgia and Alabama is significant. Far less cover and food sources here.

No wild pigs here as far as I know, but you don't have to go to much further south to find them....and they aren't very big...but nasty, cranky s that'll tear you apart if you give them the chance!

Javelinas I think they are called....big populations in Texas.

Yeah, as I thought...these are feral hogs. Once farm pigs, now wild.

Javelinas are the only native wild pig in the US.

Same reason that 16 year olds are alowed behind th wheel of a car. They are believed to be mature enough to use the tool properly. This 11 year old looks like he handles his gun far more ablely and maturely thanmost 16 year old with cars.

there is a huge difference between a gun and a car.
a guns sole function is to kill, a cars sole function is tranportation.

all the same 5 years is a major difference, 11 years old, you are still in elementary

Many people grow up around guns and are able to use them responsibly at age 11.

I had a .22 at that age..and I used it respobsibly and with great humility.

Just because it isn't something you experienced doesn't mean it is wrong. The kid was on a guided hunt. It's not that crazy.

Ummm...he went hunting with his parents or something...anything wrong with that?

Insanity indeed. More like gross ignorance on your part.

Its pretty common if your taking a picture with the animal you killed, to hold the gun you shot it with.
