Blame Sutter. If he would have started Vladar even one game in that series we beat the Oilers.
Highly doubtful the way the team played as a whole. All they had to do was stick to their game and they would have been fine regardless of Markstrom not being as good as he was against Dallas.
Instead they decided to try and play pond hockey and paid for it.

I didn't manage to catch the game tonight, but was expecting a loss just with the distractions at hand with (mostly) Dube's situation and Kylington's return.
This outcome is really what the Flames needed though, giving them clarity the rest of the way about what has to be done. They can open the phone lines now and should have a couple of significant moves in the bag before deadline day I would hope.
I'm positive they could have an agreement with Tanev on the DL that they send him to a team with a shot to take a run at the grail for a couple months then he can circle right back, get his extension, build his house and maybe even bring his pretty locks to Flames broadcasts when he hangs them up.

I don't think their phone lines were ever closed. If Conroy got an offer he thought was worth it he would take it. Hanifin is probably the only UFA they're on the fence about because of his age.
Trade a freaking goalie and let Wolf play at least half the remaining games. At this rate this guy is going to refuse to sign with us after toiling in the minors for way too long.
This team was going in the right direction. Regular playoff appearances. A playoff series win (hard to come by in this city). Then he screwed us, and blew up a pretty good team. Now we're on the brink of selling a bunch of FAs and sucking for several years.
Thanks Johnny, may you waste away the rest of your playing years in obscurity, it's what you wanted.
1 player by himself does not have that much power.
I missed most of the 3rd period, but I thought the Flames were playing well enough for most of the first 2 periods but gave up some crappy goals. Granted the first was fluky, but still not great.
What did Huberdeau do to get booted? I suppose I could check the highlights, but am too lazy.

Yep
Take our 2 seconds, a 4th and B-level prospect and start anew
You can stop trolling anytime now. Losing is bad enough without some guy stroking the Doomsday clock about what the value of our players are worth. You are way off base here.
Pretty embarrassing to lose to a team as bad as the Jackets, especially when you're desperate for points. Flames are cooked. Time to make some trades and start thinking about next year.
Comical to hear the radio media and a portion of the fanbase thinking Flames play down to the level of the lower echelon teams, where the talent level on this team overall is right where they belong. Time to rebuild is never more evident than right now.

It’s really possible that it’s becoming clear that the value everyone is expecting/hoping for just isn’t there
Cap room is definitely an issue with teams that are contending
Tanev might bring the most for us
Hanifin might be worth keeping
Lindholm appears to be eyeing free agency and his efforts lately have soured a lot on this board, imagine what people who are after building a cup winning team for their livelihood see when thinking about acquiring a rental who is currently producing this……. garbage
