Why not have him on the left side and Sharky on the right side so they can one-time in those spots on their off-wing? And if it's struggling like it is, why not just keep it simple and park someone in front and just get shots off and look for rebounds?

Not enough talent on the team to try to be fancy on the PP. Gotta be way more simple.

Yes, apparently they are.

This is beyond the roster being terrible, he's playing like ass. And what is a contract year, that would bring caution to me as a GM since he's not elevating his game for the most important contract of his career. How am I gonna have great confidence that he'll perform better on my roster to afford giving up an early round draft pick for a player that might only be around for a few months?

I don't think a first or second is on the table for him anymore. Unless a miracle happens and he gets on a heater for a couple of weeks after the All-Star Game (using that term lightly) to build back value with clock ticking.

Super passive team. Very few get upset about losing.

And these last 4 losses suck now because it seemed like maybe they could get into a playoff spot...but these might actually be losses we look back and are happy about come the draft because it puts them back into position for top 10 pick and even 6th OV is in range again.

An excellent two way C/RW right shot forward on pace for 50+ points and has a 56% face off percentage. Players like that are valuable. This year and every year before it.

Shilly’s return and Zary and Coronato getting points are the only positives I took from this one. Conny, do what needs to be done

If you're expecting them to win with this roster you are kind of setting yourself up for disappointment haha

Whatever floats your boat though I guess

Wins are fun, but we're at a stage where losses are expected.
That's my feeling also. Never expected a playoff spot and if they got close that would be a bonus. I enjoy watching our youth play and develop.

Obviously it does. The Flames made an intentional choice to downgrade their coaching to change the culture. But Sutter was drawing water from a stone with the roster he had. It's crazy that if Markstrom didn't have the yips, probably would won the division last season.

But at least now, management can see the writing on the wall, and no this team is not salvageable, and they have to make moves that builds this team into being a contender down the road. There's no "make the playoffs and anything can happe"n with this roster. It can't even make the playoffs.

Honestly 3 other guys on the ice gave a way worse effort than him on that play.

It wasn't like he gave it away. The puck comes around to the wing, Gudbranson gets a stick on it, and somehow CBJ outnumbers Huberdeau 3-1 on that side of the ice even though we have a PP. Lindholm, Kadri, and Sharangovich all standing still and don't move their feet at all even though we don't have possession.

And he was the only one that even really attempted to get back, Sharangovich should have been dropping back to support but didn't when we didn't have possession and still didn't hustle back as hard as Huberdeau did.

Easy to blame him on that play since he was closest to the puck but he was the only Flame on the ice that actually tried on that play.
